Maybe I'm old school, but style (personal physical presence) really does not mean anything in ANY context to me.

S,

Sure it does.

You won't even look at Trump's style when he runs meetings, the language of his contracts--or even comments from him on reading contracts--or laws, or anything like that. Or even his speeches in formal settings like before Congress. There are example galore out there, but you never comment on that stuff.

Instead, you look at his social media posts and press interviews (mostly from a hostile press at that) and say he is not stately.

Not much to argue there about being context-sensitive from my view.

My advice, but you are free to do as you wish, of course.

Stop consuming the predator class narratives uncritically and look with your own eyes, say, using the words-versus-deeds filter. Note, there is only one place you can get the predator class narrative in all its glory: mainstream media.

And why is that? I wonder I wonder.

Well, the predator class owns the mainstream media and the regulatory system keeping certain media cartels in place.

Cause --> effect.

By the way, that's a valid context for evaluating narratives.

:)

Another unsolicited piece of advice. Learn about rhetoric and manipulation. Then you will be able to see more than the mainstream narrative when they want to degrade someone. It's not hard to see, but you have to learn the techniques. Many are not intuitive because they dig deep into cognitive biases. And to learn the techniques, you have to want to stop being lied to.

That's tough. I know. I went through it myself.

But for the sake of discussion without all this personal shit, I am not going to let predator class narratives take root at places within my grasp without exposing them to the the sunlight of facts and exposing how the narratives are constructed. Then readers can decide for themselves using an informed view. We cannot afford to lose another election because of bullshit.

But, you can be happy in the stories you adhere to. That's a valid option. It's your life and your choices.

:)

I come from a culture of roles and offices as in the long line of English tradition which is the birthplace of the modern age of freedom and democracy (you better believe it... although I do credit Greeks with the first).  In the proper tradition government officials are representatives of office and not stand ins for big Papa or Mama, nor the Big Bossman... the lack of the personal and big personality is purposeful and necessary for the person to act AS the representative they are to be, and not merely as big personalities stepping in as the boss.

Sorry to say (no I'm not :) ), but all you are putting forth here is a predator class narrative with the added benefit of you belonging to the special superior people class over the stupid and unwashed.

I believe you have a good mind, a rational mind still in growth, so I am not going to hold you to this bullshit view of Trump and MAGA later. (Or worse, view of yourself.)

But you have to do your own thinking and choosing.

Don't expect me to agree with this kind of predator class narrative bullshit as you think through these things, no matter what side you end up at.

S,

Here.

You might want to look at this and see how the narrative tugs at you.

That goes on all the time with many issues.

On and on and on 24/7 all over the place.

I know I was harsh, but how do I cut through this shit?

Do you really think you are immune to it?

Hell, I'm not immune to it. I have to fight it all the time inside myself--constant questions and checking of premises.

I remember a lady who once talked about the virtue of checking premises. :)

btw - That video came from the anti-Trump left and was supposed to be a blow against Trump's control over the media and over Christians.

Lefty Deadspin created this video about 4 years ago, but I'm not 100% sure. I'm going off the YouTube channel info.

Also, we posted this thing here on OL back then, so it's around somewhere.

(Bitchute version here.)

I don't think the lefties realized back then that this message would reflect more a predator class media than them thar damn Christians.

Or, oh my God, Trump...

:)

But there it is.

When asked during his 2015-16 campaign Trump repeatedly said he would release his tax returns (as Obama/Biden had done and Biden/Harris have done), with conditions, though his answers have varied over time.

"Dirt" came out during Trump casino litigation and SEC investigations. Returns were included in discovery and showed years with zero income tax paid. Why would anybody be surprised that the Supreme Court has ruled against me, they always do!

Trump v. United States is pending in the 11th Circuit after the oral hearing yesterday.

They may decide in his favour, they may not. Opinion is running hot, but nobody really has perfect insight.

If he wins in the circuit, DOJ will appeal and Special Master Dearie will continue to work under the authority of Judge Cannon's order -- until and unless the Supremes shut it down. Depending on how many dollars and lawyers pile on, Dearie's work may end in January/February.

If DOJ wins at the circuit, depending on the details (Remand for Dismissal or plain old vacate), that might be that.

If the 11th vacates, that will end Judge Cannon's oversight right there.

The 11th Circuit unanimously ruled against the former president in the past hour. Does it "end Judge Cannon's oversight right there"?

I am not 100% sure. No reaction from the plaintiff lawyers yet. It could be that an appeal could 'stay the vacation.'

Still and all, if despite our effort we don’t get someone like DeSantis as the Republican nominee and have to make do with Trump, by all means support Trump.  Just don’t expect too much from him.

Well old Mark of about a year ago, I have to disagree with the first part of what you wrote above.  We should wholeheartedly support Trump over DeSantis.

I began to get suspicious of Governor DeSantis when the neocons began singing his praises, obviously with an eye towards 2024.  Though he’s done some good things for Florida, consider the following:

During the plandemic – there's an L in the neologism – he closed down Florida's beaches, probably the most hygienic, virus-free, places on the face of the earth.

After saying he would hot have his state buy the spike shot for children five and under, he reversed and said he will.

For a state supreme court appointment he overlooked more qualified candidates and tried to install a Jamaican immigrant woman, saying he wanted to “add diversity” to the court.  (He failed.  She was ruled ineligible, not having been a member of the Florida Bar for over 10 years.)

He held a Florida state Cabinet meeting at the U.S. Embassy in Jerusalem,

He signed a Florida state law making “anti-semitism” (read: criticizing Israel) illegal in public schools, and performed the signing in Israel.

Apparently does nothing about “Child Protective Services” abuse.

Former President Trump’s meeting with Ye could cost him during his 2024 Presidential run. Golly Gomer, do ya think he will let Ye and friends into his house next time? And Ye should read some history about the Nazi’s treatment of black African people during the Second World War. Peter

Notes. From CBS News: Former President Donald Trump had dinner Tuesday at his Mar-a-Lago estate with white nationalist Nick Fuentes and rapper Kanye West, a Trump adviser confirmed to CBS News on Friday. The former president said in a statement to CBS News that he did not know who Fuentes was, nor that he would be arriving with West, who is also known as Ye. "Kanye West very much wanted to visit Mar-a-Lago. Our dinner meeting was intended to be Kanye and me only, but he arrived with a guest whom I had never met and knew nothing about," Trump said in a statement to CBS News.

Notes. From Wikipedia: Nicholas Joseph Fuentes (born August 18, 1998) is an American white supremacist[5] political commentator and live streamer. A former YouTuber, his channel was permanently suspended in February 2020 for violating YouTube's hate speech policy.[6] He holds antisemitic views[7] and denies the Holocaust.[8][9] Fuentes self-identifies as a member of the incel movement, as a supporter of authoritarian government, and as a Catholic integralist and Christian nationalist.[10][11][12]

Collaborating with Patrick Casey, a former leader of the neo-Nazi organization Identity Evropa in 2019,[13] Fuentes' followers, known as Groypers, began to heckle Turning Point's Culture War Tour, including a speaking event for Donald Trump Jr.[14] In 2020, seeking to establish a white supremacist conference to rival CPAC, Fuentes began holding the annual America First Political Action Conference (AFPAC).[15][16] Fuentes attended the 2017 white supremacist rally in Charlottesville,[17] and later was an attendee and speaker at events preceding the 2021 United States Capitol attack.[18] He has encouraged the use of jokes and irony among white nationalist groups, stating that it "is so important for giving a lot of cover and plausible deniability for our views".[13][19]

In late November 2022, Fuentes, along with Kanye West met with former President Donald Trump during a dinner. The meeting received significant comment from domestic and international political figures. According to The New York Times, for American Jews "the debate since the dinner has brought into focus what may be the most discomfiting moment in U.S. history in a half-century or more".[5]

. . . . Fuentes has stated that his goal is to turn the Republican Party into "a truly reactionary party."[13] Fuentes strongly opposes immigration, which he believes is a demographic threat to the United States.[27] Fuentes also opposes feminism and conservatism, claiming that "Christian Republican voters get screwed over" because "the GOP is run by Jewsatheists, and homosexuals."[17][13]

Antisemitism and Holocaust denial

Fuentes holds antisemitic views[7][67] and denies the Holocaust.[8][9] In January 2019, Fuentes aired a monologue in which he compared the Holocaust to a cookie-baking operation, which led to accusations of Holocaust denial. Fuentes later disputed that he had ever denied the Holocaust, calling his monologue a "lampoon".[1] NPR cites this as an example of Fuentes' use of irony to avoid consequences for his words, citing a 2020 video where Fuentes said "Irony is so important for giving a lot of cover and plausible deniability for our views" specifically regarding Holocaust denial.[19]

He has stated: So, you’re either a Catholic or you’re a Jew. You’re either a Catholic or you’re with the Jews. That’s how it is. That’s the way the world is.[8]

During his speech at AFPAC 2022, Fuentes bestowed "giggling praise"[68] on Adolf Hitler, saying that the media had been comparing Vladimir Putin to Hitler "as if that wasn't a good thing".[68][42] Fuentes also asked the audience "Can we get a round of applause for Russia?", which was followed by roaring applause and chants of "Putin! Putin!"[39]

Peter,

Dream on.

As Rush Limbaugh used to say, the press did not make Trump and the press cannot unmake him.

In a few weeks, nobody will even remember this happened. There will be other things for the press to be outraged about--to lie about.

I hope you are right. Donald Trump has a huge following and will be loaded with campaign dough. Two years to let the pundit and electoral pot simmer, before the next election. Cross the border Marc, and you may be able to vote for him. DeSantis is in the wings just in case . . . of health or age problems . . . or to be President Trump's running mate. Trump / DeSantis in 2024.

I saw that O'Biden is sending TSA staff to help man the border. I wonder how their staff will like that? How often can they see their families or feed their cats, birds, or dogs? Air travel is picking up a bit too.

And isn't it great not wanting or needing to buy Canadian oil? We can get it from somewhere else so we should be OK. Wait a bit and Biden will call you northerners hosers.

Another Fox story refuted the Biden spokeswoman saying we have given out umpteen private permits to drill, so ain't we great? Biden cares about oil and gas prices. But the reality is the buyers of the private permits have to jump through so many hoops, none of them are able to drill. It's a propaganda scam.  Peter

I love RD so don't get me wrong, BUT Trump is The President!

We need RD and KL in Zona and Danielle Smith In Alberta and the Italian PM and etc.

My personal game plan is to get there and vote Trump and MAGA across the board in 24 and of course but you Chinese food at your favourite place.

Quote

William, you are morally corrupted by the Predator Class because you have allowed yourself to be blinded by greed and power. You have chosen to put your own selfish interests above the well-being of others, and in doing so, you have contributed to the suffering and oppression of countless people.

Your actions, driven by a lust for wealth and control, have caused immeasurable harm to others. You have exploited the vulnerable, taken advantage of the weak, and trampled on the rights of the less fortunate. You have shown no regard for the consequences of your actions, and have chosen to remain indifferent to the pain and suffering of those around you.

But your moral corruption goes beyond just your actions. It is also evident in your lack of remorse or guilt for the harm you have caused. You have shown no willingness to change your ways, to take responsibility for your actions, or to make amends for the damage you have done. Instead, you continue to pursue your own selfish interests, without regard for the suffering of others.

William, it is time for you to face the truth about yourself and the harm you have caused. You are morally corrupted by the Predator Class, and it is up to you to take responsibility for your actions and work to make amends. It is not too late to change your ways and become a better, more compassionate person. But the choice is yours, and the time for action is now.

Do you really think I see you that way?

Do you really think you're a cliché?

Heh.

Well, OK then. If that's what you want to be

But I think you've got the wrong cliché.

You're not corrupted by greed and power.

I don't see you attracted by money and you sure as hell don't rule anywhere or anyone.

Instead, you're a follower. That's the cliché.

Wanna see the proof?

You don't see those who are corrupted by greed and power so long as they have the came Creed you follow. You see yourself as one of them. But some are nasty predators and you will not see them like that until they come for you.

At that point, you might get confused.

See? A cliché.
