Donald Trump

Damn , if only the US election was today and not in 14 months , then he would have a shot .

Marc,

Heh.

Before it was Trump didn't have a chance in hell yesterday, today, tomorrow and never.

Now he's got a shot today...

I just heard a crow go "Gulp..."

Michael

No gulp my man , none . My point being if the election were today , and he was still blowing away everyone at the polls . Nov 4th 2016 , yeah then he would obviously have a chance .

Will repeat again for clarity .

Zero chance even for the nomination .

The nominee obviously will win the Presidency so only important to talk about who wins the nomination and still stand by my claim that even Donald don't want it , he wants to simply own the eventually President .

I think it'd be entertaining if he won. At least he isn't afraid to say what he wants. He has his own money, and he can't be worse than the rest. I'm not a US citizen though, so I just get to sit back and watch the show.

For those following the kerfuffle where Trump is blasting the Club for Growth:

It sure doesn't look good for the Club for Growth.

It looks like they needed their endorsement to be bought. A cool million.

It looks sleazy.

Nerian, we Americans Patriots and Activists want you to sit back, watch, and comment. As a full fledged member of the U.S.A., I hereby grant Australians American citizenship. Come and go freely with Nichol Kidman, Mel Gibson, Eric Bana, Cate Blanchette, Paul Hogan, Simon Baker, and Alex O’Loughlin And I grant citizenship to all citizens of Great Britain, including Ireland, and Scotland and Canada. Come and go as you please, my brothers and sisters. I especially want Celtic Woman to reappear for a Christmas Show. My niece loves them.

Marc? The only proof of your Zero chance of nomination is in your head. The polls say otherwise. Proof. Evidence. Gotta have it.

He married Maria Shriver...

Hilarious his wiki page has his height at 6'2", he's actually 5'8".

BTW, I'm about 1/2 way through AotD. Don't think I'm going to make it to the end, I'm liking Carly more and more... Is his more recent book better?

Here's a big fat NothingBurger from Arnie:

I like Arnie as a movie star better than a politician. I fear he infected himself as a politician and let wishy-washy drip into his spine.

Arnie just did exactly the opposite of everything Trump does right.

Hasta la vista, baby...

Michael

Arnie was a real disappointment when he became governor of Calif. I was living there and hopeful his rhetoric about sweeping clean & reducing the size of government would become a fact. Instead he folded like a cheap tent and caved in to the liberal controlled state legislators during his term.

yeah , obviously we both know that I cannot prove something that will happen in 2016 . I get that . Lets call it bravado and an incorrect choice of words . Your evidence that Trump will win ( if thats what you think cause I do not really read what you write ) are polls 14 months in advance , or 5 months or whatever date the nominee is chosen .

just like I could not prove Apple stock was toppy ( a poster here claimed it was not ), well very quickly I was proven correct .

Same thing with the Jays winning the division .

Yeah , I know - that aint US politics .

I understand US politics real well and I see what I see . Regardless of you wanting proof . Grab a newspaper from Nov 5 2016 and you will have your proof .

Trump- Sanders for POTUS , thats what the polls say .

uhhhh , that aint happening , no I don't have proof except my own brain to know that a 76 year old Jewish socialist aint gonna be there either .

I really couldn't care less about today polls .

No polls? How about debates? We have another one coming up in about a week, but we must first get through the anniversary of 911 and the prophecies about the crash coming on September 14, 2015. A lot of Republican punsters are predicting people will get tired of Trump by the time the Iowa, New Hampshire, and South Carolina's primary voting occurs in February 2016. Will Trump get tired? I think he is easily bored.

Mike,

My suggestion for you to read The Art of the Deal was not to convince you to switch from Carly.

It was for you to help correctly identify The Donald so that when you talked about him, you would be accurate. Even with the half-book you already read, you have to admit his soul is not the media caricature. The man dreams big, is a hard worker, tries to deal fairly with people even has he drives a hard bargain, evaluates himself and others according to merit, does not take the easy way by default, and so on.

If you read O-Land and l-land think tanks, you get the impression that Trump is cross between Pol Pot and Hitler in the making all in a playboy wrapper. Or, from other caricatures, you think he is a braggart buffoon who always takes credit for things he didn't do and always sticks it to the little guy. Or maybe he inherited his wealth. Or he only does deals to get fat government contracts. Etc.

One very good chapter I recommend before you close the book is the one about the ice rink. There you will see how he works when he doesn't know anything about a new project and how he handles incompetent politicians. (He and Ed Koch never did get along.) If you look, you will see that Howard Stern (that Howard Stern) likes Trump a lot. The ice rink episode is one of the reasons.

I, myself, was in doubt about Trump's incursion into gambling because I have a visceral negative reaction to gambling people (the ones I have known were worse than drug dealers), but I am satisfied with his framing of it. I forget where in the book he talked about it, but his view was that the biggest casino in the world is the stock market. Morally, he saw no difference between that kind of gambling and casinos. I think he's right.

Interestingly, in that book, you do not see Trump using the stock market for anything other than acquiring companies. He does not use it to gamble like so many do.

Regarding other books, I have a few, but have only skimmed them. Recently, I did get Time to Get Tough: Make America Great Again!, but I haven't read it. I also have several other of his books lying around from my interest in studying marketing.

I saw Trump live a few years ago at a Learning Annex conference. Kat and I stuck around for the Q&A. He did not impress me very much back then because all he talked about was Rosie O'Donnell and how much of a bully she was. And how you have to smack bullies back hard to make them stop. And yada yada yada. Almost the whole Q&A was about this--and, boy, was it a long Q&A. :) (Frankly, I think there's a nasty backstory there that nobody knows, maybe involving one of his kids, but that is pure speculation.)

As you can tell, my opinion of Trump has since improved.

:)

Excellent argument, just look at the facts:

Trump left the Apprentice after a few successful seasons...OK so that is not true.

Trump abandoned Atlantic City...OK, so that is not true either.

Well, Trump abandons all those big projects after they are half built and he becomes bored with them...OK so that's not true either.

Well. Trump get's bored is true because I say so and I have a comic book view of politics...

CAW...CAW...the Crow cried CAWSE I said so...

Anybody want to translate this from Sam Seder?

Here's what I get.

According to Seder, Trump is great for the progressives (which Seder calls "America") because he forces other GOP candidates to adopt the insanity of GOP supporters. Subtext, the American people, other than progressives, are stupid and insane. Deeper subtext, Seder will show them the way to become human beings if they ever decide to use their brains. But he doesn't think that is possible.

Note, Seder thinks Trump is a Frankenstein monster, but wait! There's more! Trump's success is due to the average Republican being a Frankenstein monster in disguise.

Woah... heavy, dude...

Seder's biggest delight in this talk was the anchor baby gotcha on Jeb Bush that Seder says Trump forced on him, thus proving that Bush, while he may not be a Frankenstein monster himself, is now being forced to talk like one to get votes from his Frankenstein monster base.

What takeaway do I get from this snarky boneheaded sanctimonious mishmash?

Simple. If this dude is the best in persuasion the progressives have, it will be too easy once Trump is nominated. It won't be a fair fight and idiots like Seder won't know what hit them.

The guy's head is so far into his identity story where he and his kind are the Superior Ones, he can't see reality.

And just on a common sense level, when have stupid slaves (like Seder's nonprogressive American people) ever been called stupid slaves to their faces and then voted for the master race (Seder and his progressives)?

This is kind of duh.

Think it dude. Don't say it. Calling people Frankenstein monsters is not the way to persuade them of anything.

Talk about flunking Persuasion 101.

I would say that Seder himself is an intellectual Frankenstein monster, but he's not.

He's just a moron.

Gotta be careful with Trump.

Otherwise, this:

Woman nods off during Jeb speech

becomes this in no time flat:

(I wouldn't want to be the poor lady snoozing. I predict she will get so much grief, she will turn Democrat out of spite. )

Donald Trump: Amateur hour with the Iran nuclear deal
Politics as usual has failed, that's why I need to step in.
by Donald Trump
September 8, 2015
USA Today

It is hard to believe a president of the United States would actually put his name on an agreement with the terrorist state Iran that is so bad, so poorly constructed and so terribly negotiated that it increases uncertainty and reduces security for America and our allies, including Israel.

It was amateur hour for those charged with striking this deal with Iran, demonstrating to the world, yet again, the total incompetence of our president and politicians. It appears we wanted a deal at any cost rather than following the advice of Ronald Reagan and walking away because “no deal is better than a bad deal.”

. . .

The problem is that Iran poses an existential threat to Israel, our Middle Eastern allies and the United States. If we have to wait until the next president is sworn in to revisit this nuclear weapons agreement, then the next president better be someone who knows how to negotiate and who will do what is best for the United States.

When I am elected president, I will renegotiate with Iran — right after I enable the immediate release of our American prisoners and ask Congress to impose new sanctions that stop Iran from having the ability to sponsor terrorism around the world.

In fact, if I am elected, I am sure the prisoners will be released before my taking office.

. . .

We now have the Islamic State and the threat of nuclear weapons from Iran, both a direct result of the shortsighted incompetence of those in Washington during the war in Iraq and long before.

Negotiating from a position of strength is important. Having the will to follow through is fundamental. A Trump presidency will force the Iranians back to the bargaining table to make a much better deal.

Now Trump is writing articles like this in the mainstream press instead of just manipulating them.

Drip drip drip...

The video in that previous post of mine about Sam Seder was hosted on YouTube, but featured on Real Clear Politics Video.

In fact, that's the reason I posted it. I figured RCP would make it get come traction and create some buzz.

But after a full day of being featured on Real Clear Politics Video, the YT view count is 5,447. (Every play, even on RCP, gets counted by YT.)

That small number is equivalent to a rejection by viewers.

"It’s an embarrassment to our country?" Strange use of words. He does get red in the face, but since when has The Donald been embarrassed? Will Trump be an interventionist?

There is a rally today in Washington, DC on the West Lawn of the United States Capitol to stop the Obama Iran Nuclear Weapons deal. The rally will star Donald Trump, and feature Senator Ted Cruz, Governor Sarah Palin, Mark Levin and Glenn Beck. It starts at noon with the first key speaker taking the stage at one. I bet Fox will cover some of it live.

Can members of congress be swayed by reason and morality? Locally on Fox there has been an advertisement featuring Delaware Senator Coons very intelligently saying no to the deal, but in the meantime he has pledged to support it. Senator Coons just say no! That guy could play a hobbit with little make-up.
