Dragonfly
Three versions of Chopin's Etude op. 10 #4:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nMl0hrnxHA4Argerich is fast (as usual), but not very accurate and she uses too much pedal, which creates a muddy sound, especially with the sixteenth notes in the bass line. The Etude should be played with little or no pedal, after all Chopin indicates pedal only for the last 4 bars. Richter plays even significantly faster than Argerich, but creates a much clearer sound. A more "normal" tempo, less extreme than Richter, but also a nice, clear interpretation. With Richter and Lisitsa you can clearly hear the continuous switching of the two figurations (staccato chords and continuously running sixteenth notes) between the two hands.
