  1. What's a great movie for a couple to watch together on Valentines Day? I would choose 'Brining Up Baby'.
  2. I find it rather disturbing the contempt that some people have for pregnancy (I'm not talking about rape, incest, or the mother's life). Sure, it's definitley NOT for every one, but without it there would never be Ayn Rand, Thomas Jefferson, Aristotle, or even YOURSELVES.
  3. Quite likely the greatest movie of all time.
  4. Ok, I'll go first. -Obama and H. Clinton will anounce a joint presidential ticket towards the end of '07. -Acomplia will be approved by the FDA -The GOP will win seats in this off year election in November at the State and local (and even federal) level. -OBL's fate will be known. -Pursuit of Happyness wins the Oscar for Best Picture
  5. What are your predictions for 2007?
  6. Justice has been served. Time to unleash the dogs of war upon Osama bin Laden and Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.
  7. What's everyones favorite cassical piece? I actually have two of them; 'Toselli's Serenade', by Enrico Toselli, and 'Time to Say Goodbye' with Sarah Brightman and Andre Bocelli. I get the feel-good goosebumps whenever I listen to them.
  8. Beautiful compositions. Excellent work ENonemaker, thank you.
  9. What's everyones favorite music band? My favorite is Spiritualized http://www.spiritualized.com/ they're a beautiful hybrid sound of classical music, hymns, blues, and rock n' roll. The music will sweep you into the arms of the summer sun.
  10. Well said, Mr. Bidinotto. The "other" forums (i obviuosly don't need to name them) are exactly why I love posting here and at ROR, because the majority of the time everyone is civil and respectful. There's actually excitement about OBJECTIVISM and not wailing and gnashing of teeth at other people. Objectivism is the greatest philosophy ever, i like that I am able to learn more about it and study it with others here (thank you MSK and Kat) and elsewhere. Those other forums really give the Objectivist movement a bad name. I feel sorry for some individual new to Objectivism who happens upon some of those other websites, because although there are some intelligent thinkers and eloquent speakers, many of them are not good ambassadors of the philosophy. Tracinski is much better off apart from Peikoff...I mean ARI.
  11. MSK, I think this guy is a dirtbag; http://72.14.205.104/search?q=cache:41ElK1...lient=firefox-a
  12. Robert, I agree with you on Judd being a better pick. Still, I just can't see Jolie pulling it off strictly from an acting POV. I guess we'll have to wait and see...
  13. I just can't see Jolie portraying an individualist like Dagny when she is the complete opposite in real life.
  14. Been there. Gotta just keep on keepin' on.
  15. This banning of trans fats in New York may set off a chain reaction of me-too's from other cities or states. I just don't see how this law can even stand! I'm certain that it will be challenged in the NY Supreme Court, and hopefully the law will be struck down with extreme prejudice. But, I am not holding my breath on that one, for as we all know NYC has been infested with liberal scum for quite a while. Those who are against and live in NY should raise living hell over this.
  16. Back in the generation of our grandparents they didn't have the time or the luxury to whine, they had to buck up and deal with the pain. Yeah, they were some tough SOB's back then.
  17. Brant, funny you should mention the dentist thing. My grandfather on my mom's side never used anesthetic at when he went to the dentist either. I remember thinking; that's one tough fella.
  18. I for one, am not a pussy. Pain tolerance is very subjective. Every individual, men and women alike, therefore cannot be judged collectively on this matter, but only on an individual basis.
  19. Every dollar I'm taxed is one less dollar I can give to the causes and individuals of my choice.
  20. Rich, why don't you tell us how you really feel
