  1. He's such a DEMON! I'm excited to see your version of him. I just take my anger out on the people crowding up the hallways at my school. :shifty:

    I look forward to it.
  3. It's really hard to say what look is best to paint, maybe you should collage them . He's had 5 or 6 different "eras." Here are some pictures from each era, earliest to latest: Portrait of an American Family http://mansonusa.com/img/?src=/photo/promo/89-95/61.jpg Antichrist Superstar http://mansonusa.com/img/?src=/photo/promo/96-97/90.jpg Mechanical Animals http://mansonusa.com/img/?src=/photo/promo/98-99/5.jpg Holy Wood http://mansonusa.com/img/?src=/photo/promo/00-02/36.jpg Golden Age of Grotesque (I always fancied this era...he is the most handsome here, in my opinion--although I'm not sure that's what you'd be going for ) http://mansonusa.com/img/?src=/photo/promo/03-04/128.jpg Recently http://mansonusa.com/img/?src=/photo/promo/04-05/31.jpg Sorry I couldn't directly post the pictures...they would have taken too much space anyway. I also have to suggest J.D. Salinger. My angry teenage heart is just dying to see it.

You should paint Bono with his head up his ass. I was actually going to suggest you paint him in one of the other threads. He's a good one for icons and idols. Fiona Apple really is extraordinary. Back in the day, her and Manson were going to do a collaboration, but it never happened. Would've been excellent. On the recent re-release of The Nightmare Before Christmas soundtrack, she did a cover of "Sally's Song" and Manson did "This is Halloween." You should check it out. Danny Elfman is spectacular. I will check out Feist and Lily Frost. I've never heard Portishead, but I will check them out as well. Your list of icons looks excellent so far. I'm especially looking forward to Rush, The Ramones, The Cure, and Elton John (as well as Manson and Tupac, of course). If you need any help with rappers, let me know *cough*Eminem*cough*. And last, but not least...OF COURSE I will buy your book. Can you describe what it will be like, please? Will there be excerpts about each artist, or...?

Victor, I AM very passionate about music, how did you guess? I won't be able to hear when I'm old because I always blast my headphones. I'm 17 (for real), but I'm 11 and 55 at the same time. My favorite bands/musicians include Manson (of course), KoRn, Tool, A Perfect Circle, Nine Inch Nails, KMFDM, Mindless Self Indulgence, My Chemical Romance, Weird Al (would be a good caricature!), Billy Talent, Fiona Apple, Tori Amos, Rush, The Cure, Beck, Sublime, and I also can't help but like Justin Timberlake *blush*. I don't know very many people who like a weird combination of bands like that... Of course my list is incomplete without rap. My favorite rappers are Eminem (again, of course), Tupac (a HUGE rap icon that I think would go well with your icons and idols series), Notorious BIG (who is also a huge rap icon), Jay-Z (whose face is so goofy that he would make a great caricature), Nas, Chamillionaire, Xzibit, Ludacris, 2 Live Crew, NWA, DMX, Method Man, Redman. Those lists are incomplete, but that's what came off the top of my head. You are more than welcome to my feedback anytime you wish. Let me know if you consider doing any of those artists I mentioned. -Kori By the way, you're not an old fart.
  6. Yeeeeessssssssssss!!!! What era are you going to do him in, do you know? He has many looks...like Madonna or David Bowie.

    Oh, definitely Bowie!
  8. Ayn Rand would be a really interesting one...of course. And as I mentioned in the other thread, Marilyn Manson. Or maybe Eminem or George Carlin. LOL. I LOVE your Freud.
  9. I LOVE the Darwin Awards. I read two books a while back and they had me rollin'. I think that elephant crap one really does top the list. How awful.
  10. Oh he definitely would! I look forward to it! (I think you should do Ayn Rand as well). He's actually got some artwork as well. I'll post a link to the site when it's got arwork on it. There's something up with both his official site and his artwork site. Bleh. I don't think I need any go ahead to post the painting. There are all kinds of "obscene" things posted there all the time. It's a VERY free forum. Just so you notice, I edited my above post.
  11. Yeah, it's a cool site. There are quite a few great personalities on that forum, but it can get kind of rough. People there are really mean to each other, but it's amusing and everyone knows that everyone else is joking. Are you into Marilyn Manson at all? Here is the link to where I posted your work: http://www.mansonusa.com/council/showthrea...;threadid=41237 I don't think you'll get many bad comments, but be aware that there are a lot of smartasses on this board. Look out for m_absinthe especially...he's a cat.
  12. Very great work! I especially like the Salvador Dali. It reminds me of a video game I play...I'm not sure why. I was planning on sharing it with mansonusa.com/council. I think they will like your work. I'll let you know if I share it with anyone else.
  13. Very cool painting! I happened to have loved the text blocks. Victor, can I share this with another forum, please? Also, is there somewhere I can see the rest of your work?
  14. Hilarious! That made my day. I will send it to my sister (who loves Bono). I think U2 is okay, but Bono really gets on my last nerve. My sister told me that he once paid for a first class ticket to have his SUNGLASSES flown to him!
  15. Thanks a lot! I have not read "The Ominous Parallels" and I have read "We The Living" (which made me bawl my eyes out for about the last 60 pages). I will check out all of your suggestions!
  16. I think she could do a good job. After all, she is supposedly a fan of the book. I think people should give her a chance. :twitch:
  17. Thanks! It's really just a personal interest. I keep hearing all different sides about issues surrounding these three and I'd like to just check out the facts myself. Of course I will be careful of Internet sources .
  18. Thanks! I know it was pretty vague. I don't know how to narrow it down though, because I'd like to learn everything. Haha.
  19. Can somebody please recommend good sources (preferably internet sources) of information on Maoist China, Soviet Russia, and Nazi Germany?
  20. Or maybe you are riding the bus and it gets to bouncing up and down just right... :shifty:
  21. I love it! I'm actually going to watch the season premiere in about an hour. Can't wait! Blackhorse, did you mean Family Guy is one of your favorites? Something I keep laughing about this week is a scene from last Sunday's Family Guy. Somebody mentions Charlotte from Charlotte's Web getting over her tourettes and then they show a girl walking past Charlotte's web and it says "WHORE" on it. ROFLcopter!
  22. Two movies I saw recently are Conrack and The Descent. The Descent, although still a corny horror movie, was the most disturbing and horrifying movie I have ever seen. I actually shrieked in the theater and spilled my popcorn. Also, Conrack I saw in my english class. That was a really touching movie.

Robert, That's very cool of you and your wife to sit down with your daughter and listen with her. My parents were never like that. When I was 11, they would have said "no way!" Now I can buy whatever I want, but when I buy a rap CD I get weird looks from them. I definitely agree that he is a brilliant wordsmith. I can also understand your disdain for his attitude. I used to have a similar mindset (fuck the world!), but I fortunately grew out of it. To me he is just a big joke. His songs are funny to me; however, to some people all of the crap he says is real and they are influenced by it. I think if more kids had parents like you and your wife, there would be less bleach blonde white boys in schools around the country. ;)

Yeah, unfortunately. We need more rapping midgets.
