In the early ’90s, I believed I knew the secret to free candy. And that secret was Tootsie Pop wrappers that included an image of a Native American man aiming an arrow at a star. Other kids my age may or may to not have known, but my friends and I were certain that the star wrappers were significant and rare. Specifically, star wrappers were significant because each one could be swapped for a free Tootsie Pops, so I thought. And they were rare because, well, they’re free candy tickets. So why wouldn’t they be rare?

I bought into the idea unquestioningly, despite never trading a star-printed wrapper for more candy myself. I never even witnessed anyone do it. But I knew that those wrappers were candy currency.

 

It was just intuitively obvious. The other images on the wrapper showed kids playing sports. The image of the man wearing a full feather headdress aiming at a star didn’t match the others. It sticks out. It must have a special meaning.

I am dangling a lure. It could appeal to a few readers. It could appeal to those who maintain a tool-kit of Objectivist principles -- and want to further investigate this controversial topic and its entailments.  "For the XYZ in you" is a common trope.

If somebody doesn't want to explore material at the link above, fair dinkum. Evaluating suggestions that QAnon is a fraud can take a few routes and follow various investigative methods -- according with one's personal ethics.

It's so weird seeing you deal out blatant covert manipulation to the plebes, vesting a robe of Objectivist qua Objectivist sanctimony, and then indicate you want to be taken seriously.

Definitely not human.

Shows to go ya', people like William literally don't know what an Objectivist is, although some lie to themselves and think they do. 

They do what so many people in our gaslighted society do these days. They make up a story in their heads (to be more precise, borrow one from their tribe's zeitgeist), cast it with cartoon characters, then go out into the world treating real people like the cartoons in their heads to make themselves feel good.

The fundamental part of their Objectivism cartoon is that Objectivists are not bright, but they try to be sincere, so one can choke them on hypocrisy, then laugh at their efforts to remain serious. 

It's a worn out mindgame, but it still gets traction among the diehards.

After all, cartoons are fun...

Certainty is a prerequisite of faith.

If, for example, I wanted to get people to believe that science has proven that humans cause global warming, I would start with certainty. And when the science went a fudgin', I would dig in and lade on the certainty.

It's impressive how big a following I would be able to get.
