  1. I thought that Gail & Toohey are both able to see truths (coming from two different sides) but unable to stand for them, ultimately. (I mean no metaphysical bent in the "able to see")
  2. Replying to OP: Einstein proved? Why do you believe this? Did you see what Einstein said is true through your own eyes? If you did, did you give up on rationality by saying nothing exists because it was too hard to untangle the complicatedness of the universe? Read Atlas Shrugged, A=A. There is no such thing as absolute relativity. It is a contradiction. If things "move slowly at fast speeds" it means they are picking up particles that are binding them, particles too small to see at current. There are three things in the objective universe: the matrix, the quantum, and their relationships(dimensions).
  3. Gail Wynand edit: I guess this is maybe fallacious because Wynand "thinks" he rules the mob, either that or trying to turn Roark over to the mob was simply vicious.
  4. There's a striking similarity between both Dagny & Roark, and Gail & Rearden Remember when Roark said something about how no group has ever accomplished anything? Remember when Roark said to Gail, "I guess it's inevitable you would see that"?
  5. but think about the pig!; billions of years of evolution and then all of a sudden we're playing god! WHAT IF THAT PIG HAS CONSCIOUSNESS??? I've had general anesthesia, i'm not sure where to start looking what body systems it first affects-but i'm pretty sure it's in the brain. I think we should scrap building organs in animals and do it in brainless things, if that's what general anesthesia affects. -A resident vegan
  6. The soul/body dichotomy, that u never will know whether the afterlife, god, free will, exist but the act of telling yourself in the silent sanctuary of your mind and the effort of telling yourself that u don't know-that u know you will never know- is the act of integrity of the ego's free will. -Robert Clinton Soley
  7. I can't figure out how to edit my above post either on my phone or computer. Also, capitalism is the moral system in an industrialized/industrializing world. There is a hierarchy of dangerous jobs. At the top of the list is the scientist. A scientist, during every experiment, is risking their body. They could end up with cancer, parkinson's, or dead. How any person could demand that a person risk their soul for FREE is immoral.
  8. I've starved in various places: the streets, mental institutions, jail; one could possibly say I've starved around. There's two things on this i'd like to say: 1) doors eventually opened to get food 2) in the case you're being forced to starve, you cannot choose to try to trap another human into being guilty so you can "rightfully" take their food; to do so would be to violate Galt's oath.
  9. Capitalism the only moral system which can exist. There are probably other angles, but let's look at it from the standpoint that art is of value: An artist chooses his subject himself, to force an artist to choose a subject is a form of torture. To force an artist to give away something he loves to someone he loathes is unethical.
  10. Ask yourself "if I loved a person, why wouldn't I live for them?" the only answer would be another person. this means you would not live for ^ ^This person.
  11. I suggest things CAN move faster than light. Light may be a hardly interacting particle, that when viewed on a greater scale is actually interacting most with other powerful objects perhaps outside of the visible universe, and since it's speed is so fast, we cannot measure discrepancies due to gigantically powerful force sources here's a thought experiment: you are traveling in space next to a source of energy that sucked into a converter which accelerates you. what happens when you get to that particle that accelerates you to or past the speed of light? if you don't accelerate to or past it (I forget which one is said to be the limit), haven't you broken the law of thermodynamics?
  12. No scientific research is sunk. It's a type of suicide to not do research. If you let induction take over, you will conclude every object is made up of objects, also, planets grab the closest thing; the obvious thing is to throw objects at each other in order to see if they stick or rip apart. This, in my opinion, is the right conclusion of induction.
  13. I can see this topic is immoral.
  14. I decided mandatory K-12 is immoral and we will probably never see it abolished in our time. An alternative would be to make every child have the right to a COMPUTER for homeschooling. The root of this would have to be that we do away with "childcare laws", that a child can be home alone, and do it. I would support something that isn't clock-based, but instead achievement-based; that a school day can be completed before each day and with fewer than seven hours, if the child can accomplish it. That meaning there isn't a teacher watching through a webcam. How long would it take to make this program exist? I'd be willing to pay taxes for this, who else would?
  15. I looked it up, not bothering to source it, because none of the sources link to scientific studies, but the consensus is that air doesn't kill sperm. I did, however, read a reddit that was created by a scientist who looked at his preejaculate opposed to his ejaculate and the preejaculate was dead. I'm not sure if immaculate conception truly works without the aid of chemicals/conditions, or if this is just propaganda.
  16. Expected. Matter is just a bunch of geometries* in space with different personalities. edit: it's just a matter of time 1 gets kicked out of the group XD
  17. There was a case where a woman "impregnated herself after oral sex". I read through the comments & 1 claimed this was actually eventually cleared up-that they had vaginal-penis contact. I'm wondering if there are any fertility experts who can clear up if it's the case such an oral sex>impregnation situation could occur. I am wondering, for example sperm banks, when a man donates sperm, does he do it straight into a fluid that keeps it alive, does he do it in a warm/cold room? Also, does air kill sperm? How effective is spermicide? sorry, i reloaded the page so it double posted, i don't know how to delete an entire post
  18. The reason these things help may b evolutionary, but r definitely practical to a person who has urges to take immoral action in your must undo these things to make a move. I'll answer the paralyzed ?, but this is the last & only one: perhaps it doesn't matter they can't b moved-just that they try!
  19. Today I was told something can't b done, a place cannot be reached. Tomorrow I will reach it & bring back proof of this non-existant's existence.
  20. How to be a prime mover: The self Tighten your abs, sit up straight, clench your anus, clench your kegal muscles, straighten your arms, straighten your fingers, pull your shoulders back, smile, keep your head level. Control your thoughts, control your breathing. Exercise.Don't fidget. Others Never ask for help. Never take what isn’t yours.
  21. I believe taking Rand's belief to the extreme; every component of a word, every brushstroke, every note, & every brick is a projection of the metaphysical beliefs of the creator. In order to create correct, good art; one must never use it to try to get someone to do something, or to tell a lie. It's true, if u respect someone & create a piece to please them, because that pleases you, it will be good. when you create somethig in your own image, the John Galts of the world can say "yes, that is you." which is a mutally beneficial realization. I think friendship is at the heart of art, that and self-actualization. It (good art) makes you think & feel. edit 2: it's objective & private what u think & feel.
  22. Obviously, but humans can understand symbols
  23. Art is created from INTENTION which objectivly exists. For simplicity's sake we'll say the subject is like a perpetual motion machine, choose the wrong one (an immoral one) & you will become a hater of your life-losing the will to create.
  24. This is no flaw. The stoddard temple is a example of an individual who privately amassed wealth & destroyed it. The government is the compulsor of taxes & thus destroys wealth, not of 1 man's(Roark's), but the entire society's.
