Jon Letendre Posted August 13, 2020 Posted August 13, 2020 I'm only at 9:20. Is he alone in that room but for a few cameras? Why is there total silence in the room, even when he makes big points? I think he and Kamala and three cameras are otherwise all alone in that room. No one would come. No one is interested. Listen to it. Not one "yeah!" or "say it, Joe." The room is empty. Fake, fake, fake. You are supposed to believe that these imbeciles who cannot get fans into a room for their big first event together are challenging Trump and matching him in the polls. You are being taken for an idiot.

Jon Letendre Posted August 13, 2020 Posted August 13, 2020 At 17:00 she is introduced to zero cheering or a single clap. The room is empty.

Jon Letendre Posted August 13, 2020 Posted August 13, 2020 Loud music overlay at the end was very smart way to cover that there was not a single clap then, either. The Joe and Kamala Empty Room Tour coming to a high school near you!
Jon Letendre Posted August 13, 2020 Posted August 13, 2020 Was it rushed? To distract from middle east peace news today? Looks that way to me.

(blushing) Why the thought never crossed my mind. Gosh... I mean, with Orange Man Bad and all, who am I other than a little old team player? Michael Stuart Kelly Posted August 13, 2020 Author Posted August 13, 2020 Just in case anybody wants to go deeper into extending the metaphor, we don't have to go all the way back to vaudeville. Niagara Falls will do. Apply that routine to Hillary Clinton in your mind and you can amuse yourself to distraction for hours on end without TV, computer or a mobile device. Michael

The trigger and response words are different, and you know what is going to happen, but it's still funny. I wonder how many poor bastards HC beat up ever since she lost? They better move on because I think her beating up on them days are not over. Michael
Michael Stuart Kelly Posted August 14, 2020 Author Posted August 14, 2020 Does this look like panic to you? It sure looks like panic to me. Mika is being touted as the laughingstock of Dem election panic all over the Internet this morning. Michael

Jon Letendre Posted August 14, 2020 Posted August 14, 2020 Sucks when your entire elite family is deep in the gang Trump is annihilating. Sucks being married to a man who murdered his intern. Those have to add to the tension of each of her days.

Peter Posted August 14, 2020 Posted August 14, 2020 From The Washington Post . . . . Indian politicians and commentators exulted in the selection. The fact that a person of Indian origin could be “a proverbial heartbeat away from the presidency is thrilling,” wrote Shashi Tharoor, a politician with the opposition Congress Party. Ram Madhav, a senior official in India’s ruling Bharatiya Janata Party, saluted the history-making nature of the pick. Another Indian political commentator said the selection represented a “triumph of diversity and democracy.” From Bloomberg / Quint: 'We are Brahmins, that is the top caste', said Harris' mother, Shyamala Gopalan Harris South Asian Americans, too, came out in criticism of Harris on social media, citing her upper-caste Brahmin Hindu ancestry. In a 2003 interview, Shayamala Gopalan, Harris' mother was quoted saying "In Indian society we go by birth. We are Brahmins, that is the top caste. Please do not confuse this with class, which is only about money. For Brahmins, the bloodline is the most important. My family, named Gopalan, goes back more than 1,000 years.” Arukshita Kaushal @ArukshitaK India's infatuation with Harris rn is a perfect example of how significant a role caste still plays within the Indian minset, and that the progressive kids equally perpetuate and retain it also cause most of them come from upper class backgrounds. Barf!
Peter Posted August 14, 2020 Posted August 14, 2020 I think Indians go from the upper class or caste Brahmins to the lower caste “Untouchables.” They’re worse than the Brits for class, status, unearned and fake nobility. So, from a Fake Jimmy Fallon skit when he is impersonating President Trump. President Jimmy Fallon's Trump: I saw that quote from Kamala’s mother where she says her Indian family was upper class Brahmin caste. That goes against how Californians likened her tough prosecution . . . some would say it was a persecution . . . of minority people. They called her the West Coast Elliot Ness. And she was an ‘Untouchable.” So let’s call her Kamala the Untouchable.
Peter Posted August 14, 2020 Posted August 14, 2020 Do I have time for one more? You ask how to say my name? Kamala sounds like Pamela! And Kamala sounds like Camelot! It's true! It's true! The Brahmin’s have made it clear. The climate must be perfect all the year, like in California which is Camelot. A law was made a distant moon ago here: July and August cannot be too hot.And there's a legal limit to the snow and pot here in California-lot. The winter is forbidden till December and exits March the second on the dot. By order, summer lingers through September In California-lot, Camelot. I will turn America into one big California-lot. A giant progressive parking lot. A more congenial spot for happily ever-aftering, here In Camelot. The real Camelot lyrics ARTHUR: It's true! It's true! The crown has made it clear. The climate must be perfect all the year.A law was made a distant moon ago here:July and August cannot be too hot.And there's a legal limit to the snow hereIn Camelot. The winter is forbidden till DecemberAnd exits March the second on the dot.By order, summer lingers through SeptemberIn Camelot.Camelot! Camelot!I know it sounds a bit bizarre,But in Camelot, CamelotThat's how conditions are.The rain may never fall till after sundown.By eight, the morning fog must disappear. In short, there's simply notA more congenial spotFor happily-ever-aftering than hereIn Camelot.Camelot! Camelot!I know it gives a person pause,But in Camelot, CamelotThose are the legal laws. The snow may never slush upon the hillside.By nine p.m. the moonlight must appear. In short, there's simply notA more congenial spotFor happily-ever-aftering than hereIn Camelot.

Sorry to wake you Joe. It didn’t work. Huh? The sniff test, Sir. Previously on Network TV. Hello. My name is Joe Biden and I am going to be the next President of the United States. Let me introduce to you, my running mate and next Vice President of These United States, Camelot . . uh . . . I mean Pamela . . . uh . . . I mean, ‘RELAEASE THE KRAKEN!”. From Bing. "Release the Kraken!" is a catchphrase and image macro series based on a memorable quote uttered by Zeus in the 1981 fantasy adventure film The Clash of the Titans as well as the 2010 3D remake. Despite the dramatic delivery of the line in the reboot, the quote was perceived as unintentionally funny and quickly became a target of image macro jokes on the web. From Know your meme. Spread: The first Urban Dictionary entry for the phrase "Release the Kraken" was submitted on March 31st, 2010, defined as "to pwn or to kick the ass of whomever you're releasing the kraken on." Throughout the first week of April 2010, the phrase was dubbed the latest meme by various tech and internet news outlets including Geekosystem, Vulture, Now Public, MTV and Mediate among others. In December, the phrase was listed in TIME Magazine's Top 10 Buzzwords of the Year . . . .
Jon Letendre Posted August 15, 2020 Posted August 15, 2020 No one is there. The Empty Room Tour. Fake candidates. Fake, fake, fake. And you, dear voter, are taken as too dumb to notice or care.
william.scherk Posted August 15, 2020 Posted August 15, 2020 I'll note at "All Polls Are Wrong" a few Big Five takeaways from 538's confection of arithmetic and gumption, just published, but meanwhile, sweaty weasel elitist smell David Pakman takes his own note of the new 2020 forecast model in "Trump Can EASILY Win." HA Goodman (and perhaps Michael and Ellen) still gives strong odds that Clinton will end up "on the ballot" for this election. Slow and sidekick Phony having signed the papers, I think the actual compositing of official ballots (electronic and paper) occurs with ten thousand county copy-pastes only after the two party conventions ratify the respective choices. Which means bang, here's your personalized ballot, with candidates CTRL-V, bang, fill it out and take it to the county dropbox. Or, arguably, you vote early in person or show up to poke your way through whatever electronic voting/ballot-marking device is on offer locally. Though HA gives no detailed scenarios of just how Crooked will finagle or assassinate her way to the top of the ticket, I can imagine a couple of plausible-if-fantastic scripts or narratives ... in mine, withdrawal or removal of Slow Jo and She's Not Eligible have to come first and early in the timeline. HA's latest plodding live-to-tape is "Trump Predicts Clinton Replacing Current Challenger at Some Point Before Debates." For a depressing sample of current The Left concerns, Sam Seder (black mirror of Pakman, fellow spawn of the demonic Young Turks nursery): The other thing I notice the odorous elitists are rankled about -- this stupid notion that President Trump is responsible for scary-if-true conspiracy attached to the US Postal Service

I have a non-political comment on this. There's a moment after the set-up where Colbert asked Kamala, "So you don't mean it?" then mugged for the camera. Here's a screenshot of the moment. I like expressions of joy, but in this case, the joy comes from humiliating someone in public. And Colbert's joy is real. He just took down a VP candidate a peg or two and that makes him important. It's a sacred feeling. In Colbert's mind, I have no doubt this is a moment he will remember often. If he invented the cure for cancer, I don't think his joy at that achievement would come close to what he felt here. I don't have anything inside me to resonate with this on such a deep level. But like the saying goes, you can't give caviar to a pig. He won't eat it. He wants slop... btw - Is he using braces? Michael
