  1. Like Chris Cable often says, "I have other skills" (in your case, plenty of heroism and resolve).
  2. Let's make it simple. Life involves choices and paying attention, voluntary situational awareness. https://www.facebook.com/jaz.greer/videos/10209492485725990/
  3. I vote for plain speaking. To declare earnestly or solemnly; affirm positively; aver. In other words, unsupported assertion.
  4. I'd like to comment but Bernie Sanders doesn't deserve comment.
  5. Nods. The crux of the issue. Evil is the refusal to think. Not incapacity. Not errors. Refusal to think, to turn a blind eye.
  6. Uh-huh. Certainly a problem. Walk away and live, ignore what other people think or say.
  7. Good. Problem solved, I'm stupid. Explains everything.
  8. I am not reasonable or rational about this. I hold Jews responsible for destroying America financially, politically, and culturally.
  9. Let's agree that media companies in the US are widely-held corporations, just like -- oh -- cereal companies, airlines, retailers. http://www.timesofisrael.com/who-said-jews-run-hollywood/ https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Jewish_American_businesspeople#Financial_services http://mondoweiss.net/2008/02/do-jews-dominat/ Fought these fuckers my entire life.
  10. You believe the most peculiar things, seriously like a world record of oddity, as if terms have no fixed meaning for you.
  11. I thought so. Slightly different situation in New York, DC, Hollywood.
  12. Michael, to clarify please, where did you do the drinking with media types? Brazil? NYC? Chicago?
  13. Germany: government spending 44% of GDP, electricity costs highest in Europe, state-owned enterprises distort the economy. France: government spending 57% of GDP, labor market burdened with rigid regulations, state dominates major sectors of economy.
  14. In a previous post, Bob, you gave utilitarian reasons for following a code of behavior that made sense to you. I can understand that it's important to you to maintain moral agnosticism, because there are certain things you'd rather not examine explicitly.
  15. Psychotic. Not even sure it's treatable.
  16. Seems to me that the age of reason is 9 or 10.
  17. Well, that's the whole issue about volitional consciousness vs determinism. The "mind" is willfully turning a blind eye or choosing to focus, refusal to think or doing the mental labor of study. What we see in a scan of physical corpus is a snapshot of the result, not the action of mental management that could have produced a different physical result over time. Paradoxically a lot of mental work gets done when we have lucid dreams.
  18. I think it's useful and net positive when people disagree. It doesn't upset me, nor do I expect anyone to change what they think.
  19. Painful to read anything Peikoff says. His paid programming KIEV 870 talk show was intensely awful.
  20. Holon silly putty in a nutshell: "wholes and parts in an absolute sense do not exist anywhere" [Wikipedia]
