  1. Very striking. I wonder if he created that post on his own?
  2. Today, The Media?, is showcasing how badly DeSantis is doing in the polls compared to President Trump. Yet they are touting how much Pac money DeSantis is raising at the same time. I guess their tactics change but their goal does not: the election of a leftist but maybe not the reelection of President Biden. Joe has been in nearby Rehoboth Beach vacationing and riding his bike. We get an occasional single or a group of bicyclists going by our country house. I will be on the lookout for him. "Good day sir. I am a Secret Service Agent. Can the President use your bathroom?" Ha. I guess I would say "Sure" and invite them in.
  3. I think it is a mistake for Ron DeSantis to run against President Trump for the GOP nomination. He would immediately have enemies who might have voted for him, and given him their time and money, if President Trump did not run. I don’t think he can win against President Biden or another Democratic without the support of Trump’s wing of the party . . . unless the political landscape changes. And I suppose it will change before November, 2024. I won’t list the probable reasons for a shift but feel free to offer some scenarios. So, would former Trump supporters vote for DeSantis, Biden, some other candidate, or abstain? Peter
  4. He probably had a rough childhood because of the traumas he had. However, he would need to explain his use of drugs in the 80’s. And he might pull votes away from Republicans who want a republican as VEEP who supports Trump’s policies . . . and would be a good backup for President Trump. How about a woman who is also running for Prez? From Wikipedia about RFK, Jr: . . . There was discussion in the press that the first Obama administration was possibly considering him as a candidate for Administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency, but his controversial statements and arrest for heroin possession in the 1980's made him unlikely to receive Senate confirmation.
  5. What if President Biden isn’t the Democrat nominee? From Fortune: Robert F. Kennedy Jr., the long-shot candidate challenging Joe Biden for the Democratic 2024 nomination, believes the CIA had a role in the assassination of his uncle, JFK. He opposes vaccines on the grounds they're a medical conspiracy, and he has boosted a theory that Bill Gates is out to control us all with microchips. He's a crackpot in other words . . . .
  6. Could you take it to the U.S. Supreme Court? I wonder how many of you Canadians voted for King Charles? The after-coronation concert was pretty good. I tuned in as Lionel Richie was getting started and then I heard Katie Perry sing "You're going to hear me Roar."
  7. Check what you said. Fox just paid nearly a billion bucks to compensate for their "illusions" about Dominion Voting machines. No one can go back and examine what went on in 2020. OH. wait, you have ESP?
  8. And on the other side of the game board, as of now, a majority of democrats don’t want Biden to run. Again, that isn’t going to happen unless a really terrible surprise happens, like a health issue. But who would be their next best choice if not the current VP. Any suggestions?
  9. I was simply bolstering my argument. What if the Republican Party nominates someone like DeSantis for President and they leave Trump out in the cold? It won’t happen . . . but if it did, Trump could create a truly viable third party unlike Ross Perot. How would this new political alignment play out? Trump MAGA with 40 percent of the vote, Biden with 35, and the Rino’s with 20 or 25 percent? And on to the Electoral College. Below are some other interesting ideas to chew on. Donald Trump Has a Powerful New Enemy Story by Harry Kazianis • Yesterday 7:26 AM/ Could the Koch network have the money and influence to beat Donald Trump? A short answer: no. And even if they did, it could backfire - bigly. I say that because Donald Trump transformed the Republican Party from being a pro-business, low taxes party to a MAGA-centric populist party. While the Koch network and MAGA share some similarities - they both want a restrained foreign policy (there are some exceptions for sure) and share some libertarian commonalities - that is where the similarities end. Where the Kochs and Trump diverge in a major way is trade. Team Koch was very much against China tariffs and is very much for free trade across the board, with no exceptions - like the GOP was before Donald Trump ran in 2015. The challenge for the Koch Brothers is Donald Trump brought in so many new voters into the GOP that those voters are uniquely tied to him. Even if Koch could sway the 2024 GOP primary and somehow hand the election to, say, Mike Pence or Nikki Haley or someone else we all know, MAGA voters would be enraged. It could even be enough to get Donald Trump to go Teddy Roosevelt and form his own version of a Bull Moose Party and run as a third-party candidate. Tred carefully, mighty Koch brothers. end quote
  10. Hmmm? Rubio might be a potential candidate for Veep. I don’t think MTG has a hope to be Veep. Look up some videos of her doing loony things like yelling at people. She would not benefit Trump in his bid for the Presidency. And I can’t say I am for DeSantis either. Peter Marjorie Taylor Green: “It used to be that kids used to drive to school, they might have their hunting rifle in the back of their truck. Principals kept a gun in their office. Coaches might keep a gun and their office kids were protected at school. But Joe Biden passed gun-free school zones, and we were for the first time unprotected.” And a few more quotes. Er? Guam is an American territory, Maggie. “We believe our hard-earned tax dollars should just go for America, not, for what? China, Russia, the Middle East, Guam, whatever, wherever. We can stand in line to buy groceries, we can stand in line to ride at Six flags, and we can stand in line for things that we think are very important. I really hope that America can end the evil of abortion. I'm proud to cosponsor the Life at Conception Act which grants rights to babies at the moment they are conceived, and the Born Alive Protection Act, that will protect innocent lives who miraculously escape death.” From Newsweek: Republican Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene's potential as a vice presidential candidate appears to have been dealt a blow in a new Rasmussen poll. A survey of likely voters from Rasmussen Reports and Political Media, Inc. has found that a hypothetical presidential ticket featuring former President Donald Trump and Greene would lose to President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris. The Republican Party has only begun the process of selecting its presidential candidate—the first official primary votes won't take place until early next year—but Trump is the clear frontrunner in most recent polling. Speculation about who might be Trump's running mate—the so-called "veepstakes"—is likely to be rife as the GOP primaries begin in earnest, while Greene is a major Trump ally who enjoys a significant national profile. The Rasmussen poll asked 1,050 U.S. likely voters who they would vote for when presented with a hypothetical presidential ticket. The survey was conducted from April 27 to May 2 and had a margin of error of plus or minus 3 percent. The survey found a Biden/Harris ticket would defeat a Trump/Greene ticket with 44 percent support to the Republicans' 40 percent. Two other potential presidential and vice presidential pairings fared notably better against the Biden/Harris ticket. Fifty-one percent of likely voters would back a Trump ticket with Florida Governor Ron DeSantis as his running mate, the poll found, while just 43 percent of respondents said they would support Biden/Harris.
  11. The Nightly Newes all "HINTED" this was a Putin bull shit plot, perpetrated by him. Ukraine dinna do it laddy.
  12. Nope. NOT gunna happen. She is disliked by even those who agree with her.
  13. Jonathan Frakes, the actor portraying Commander William Riker in the television series Star Trek: The Next Generation and subsequent films and series, joined the cast of the upcoming Star Trek: Resurgence. Frakes will assume his iconic role from the series and continue portraying Riker in an upcoming single-player Star Trek narrative scheduled to release on May 23, 2023, on Xbox, PlayStation, and PC via Epic Games . . . .
  14. How in the heck will I remember her name is spelled Nikki and not Nicky or Nicki? Two K's?
  15. Interesting. At inauguration George H.W. Bush was 64 and Ronald Reagan was 69. From Jim Sergent at USA Today: President Joe Biden announced his candidacy for reelection on Tuesday, which if successful would make him the oldest elected president in U.S. history . . . . If Biden wins the 2024 election as the Democratic candidate and serves out his entire term, he would be 86 years old at the end of his presidency in January 2029 . . . . It should be noted that Biden took the moniker of “oldest serving president” from former president Donald Trump, who has announced his candidacy for the 2024 Republican presidential nomination . . . Should Trump win the 2024 election, he would be the second-oldest president in the nation's history. end quote Trump would be 77. DeSantis is currently 44. Nicki Haley is 51 I think, and according to the fired Don Lemonade she is past her prime.
  16. I think Fox just got shafted for saying things that can’t be proved. Don’t let the heart overturn reason. Trump is leading Biden in most Real Clear Politics’ polls between March and April and a majority of Americans are not for Biden’s policies and tenure, but . . . when it gets closer to election day I wonder? Say, did you guys in Toronto vote for Prince Charles to be King? From Bing: Though Canada now has full political independence from the U.K., the British monarchy is still part of the Canadian political system to this day, in an unusual state of affairs that is sometimes described as a “ shared monarchy ” between Canada and Britain.
  17. Could gender sway an election? From Bing. The percentage of female population is 50.52 percent compare to 49.48 percent male population. The United States has 3,430,615 or 3.43 million more females than males. From Pew. Views on abortion, 1995-2022 While public support for legal abortion has fluctuated some in two decades of polling, it has remained relatively stable over the past several years. Currently, 61% say abortion should be legal in all or most cases, while 37% say it should be illegal in all or most cases . . . Views on abortion by gender, 2022 Majorities of both men and women express support for legal abortion, though women are somewhat more likely than men to hold this view (63% vs. 58%).
  18. Currently what Democrat might graciously step in, if Joe is too slow? Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and there has been some chatter from California Governor Gavin Newsom. “Kennedy, 69, announced his bid for the 2024 Democratic presidential nomination at the Boston Park Plaza in Boston on April 19.”
  19. Sorry. The vote is always close between the Rep.'s and Dem's, close to 49-49. Women make up over half the vote. Even if a small percentage of women are outraged by Trump's conservative "stacking" of the Supreme Court, and the present, state-wide abortion bans . . . then Trump will lose by 3 or 4 percent. Keep an eye on Real Clear Politics and Rasmussen polls as D Day approaches.
  20. She's toooo ?flip? and would guarantee his loss. What you or I find funny or interesting many people could not stand. From Witty and Wise. Patient: I’m having problems with my hearing. Doctor: Can you describe the symptoms? Patient: Yes. They are yellow. Homer is overweight. And Marge has blue hair. Edit. Just to add, though she may be right . . . MTG is not Presidential or Vice Presidential material. Too blunt and even bawdy are not what most Americans want as President Trump’s running mate. She would be one step away from the Presidency.
  21. $787.5 million is a lot for a bit of slander and libel. Gosh them elites with their secret meetings and such. I remember looking for proof of fraud myself after the election and I remember how foolish I felt when a video of post office workers was shown, wheeling in a tub full of election returns. Ah ha I thought. Gotcha. Turns out that is what they do all day long at the post office. The Rolling Stones. . . No, you can't always get what you want You can't always get what you want You can't always get what you want But if you try sometimes you find You get what you need . . . And I went down to the demonstration To get my fair share of abuse Singing, "We're gonna vent our frustration If we don't we're gonna blow a 50 amp fuse" Sing it to me, ladies You can't always get what you want You can't always get what you want You can't always get what you want But if you try sometimes, well you just might find You get what you need Oh, baby, yeah . . . .
  22. Wow. Dominion is also going after the “My Pillow” guy and Rudy Giuliani. From CNN. . . . What’s next for Dominion? Dominion still has a bevy of pending lawsuits against 2020 election deniers. They’re suing right-wing TV networks Newsmax and OAN, which went even further than Fox News in their promotion of unhinged and debunked conspiracy theories about supposed election-rigging. Newsmax said Dominion’s case against it is different than its case against Fox. “Newsmax believes that the facts at issue in Dominion’s case against it are materially different from those that may have driven Fox to settle and no conclusion about Newsmax should be drawn from that settlement,” a company spokesperson told CNN. “Newsmax stands by its coverage and analysis of the 2020 election and will continue to vigorously defend against the claim.” The voting technology company also has ongoing lawsuits against former President Donald Trump’s allies, Rudy Giuliani, Sidney Powell and Mike Lindell, who were at the tip of the spear of concocting and spreading the lie that the election was stolen from Trump. All of these people and companies deny wrongdoing and are fighting the lawsuits in court. During their post-settlement victory lap Tuesday, Dominion’s lawyers said the outcome in the Fox case gave them new momentum in their other cases. That’s because Delaware Superior Court Judge Eric Davis issued a series of pretrial rulings in Dominion’s favor, rejecting Fox’s key First Amendment defenses. “All of those decisions will have a huge bearing on those lawsuits as they play out,” Dominion lawyer Davida Brook told CNN Tuesday night. Dominion lawyer Justin Nelson added in a CNN interview that the Fox News settlement “sends a message to the other seven lawsuits that accountability is coming.”
  23. Will there be repercussions for President Trump? From Ariana Baio: . . . The former president took to Truth Social in the early hours of Monday and posted in all caps, “If Fox would finally admit that there was large scale cheating & irregularities in the 2020 presidential election, which would be a good thing for them, & for America, the case against them, which should not have existed at all, would be greatly weakened.” He added, “Back up those patriots at Fox instead of throwing them under the bus - & they are right! There is sooo much proof, like mass ballot stuffing caught on government cameras, FBI colluding with Twitter & Facebook, state legislatures not used, etc.” end quote. From The Baltimore Sun. Fox News’ agreement with Dominion Voting Systems on Tuesday abruptly resolved a lawsuit over how the network amplified conspiracy theories about the 2020 presidential election, which devastated Dominion’s reputation and business. The network had advanced former President Donald Trump’s claims, which its own hosts did not believe, that Dominion’s voting machines had been used to tilt the election against Trump. The trial was set to begin Tuesday, and gasps were heard in the courtroom when the judge announced the settlement. . . . . At $787.5 million, the amount that Fox News agreed to pay Dominion was one of the largest in a defamation case. Fox was not required to apologize on the air, although it did make a statement recognizing that the court had found “certain claims about Dominion” aired on its programming “to be false.” The settlement carried an implicit plea of “no contest” to several pretrial findings from Judge Eric M. Davis, who presided over the case. He had written in one ruling that it was “CRYSTAL clear” that Fox’s statements regarding Dominion and the election were untrue. Other details about the terms of the settlement remain unknown. Davis did not say anything about them in court. It’s unclear whether the settlement will be publicly disclosed . . . .
  24. Dominion voting machines won a pretrial settlement from Fox. Apparently, the "reporting" of cheating machines was a lie? or just not based on facts. Hmmm? I wonder if Dominion will go after others who say, lies are truth?
  25. From The Washington Post: . . . The result is a growing longevity gap between men and women. In the United States, life expectancy in 2021 was 79.1 years for women and 73.2 years for men. That 5.9-year difference is the largest gap in a quarter-century . . . Men are at a greater risk of dying from covid-19 than women, a gap that cannot be explained by rates of infection or preexisting conditions. The age-adjusted death rate for covid was 140 deaths per 100,000 for males and 87.7 per 100,000 for females.
