Premiere Ford , majority Government .

No question at all

I think he will probably get enough seats for a minority government, so you are half right.  But when did he become feminine? Where were you in Grade 9 French, Marc- or should I say Mark?

Carol,

Glad to see I didn't run you off. :)

I would love to move the Canadian discussion elsewhere, but this Trump thread got seriously derailed with the trained cats. :)

Also, Marc, who like me--we loves us some President Trump :) , hangs out mostly in this thread. Why not start posting on the Canadian threads and this stuff will naturally migrate over?

If it goes on too long here, though, I will transfer it. This is the Trump thread, after all, cats or no damn cats.

I agree for the most part, but where to post a question about Trump Tariffs and NAFTA's demise while the tariff-actions are fresh and the President has made his statements contra Canada? Marc seems to have put faithe in a Caesare or Czare and goes alle Trudeau-desiderata "Universe is unfoldinge as it shoulde" on the details.  If Trump is possibly wrong in a small way or in delivery ... how will we know?

In other words, if evolving questions/subjects are related to Trump policies and the US relationship with Canada ... is this the right place?

Maybe we need to have a thread reserved for worship.  Canada-worship, that is.

Lolllllll , funny but. I paid zero attention in grade 9 and 10 French , Mr. Sadowsky kept screaming at me cause my sister ( 1 grade ahead ) was a straight A student while I struggled to get a D !

Yeah, I’m actually 100% right , not half right .

Youre only as good as your last ticket , they say but my last ticket was calling candidate Trump , President Trump well before most people in the world .

I know the proof is in these here threads too !

My dad is from Paris , France so my gaffe is even worse than you think Ms. Carol , lolllllll

Sorry !

Only thing is is it will be the most boring thread in history , just saying .

Three Canadians , one hates Trump , one hates Ford and one hates progressive liberal zealots .

That  being said , the process is the process .

President Trump will go down as the greatest President in history . I assure y’all .

This is a worshipful attitude.

About NAFTA?  This doesn't really work with my question's details.

Wynne is able to read the polls, which show the Liberals have zero chance of forming a government. Ordinarily, a sitting premier would pretend to the bitter end that there was a chance. I think Wynne has some gumption.  By her statements, she wants to deny a majority to either the Progressive Conservatives or the New Democratic Party.

Who knows?  The polling averages can only provide snap-shot indicators of the riding-by-riding expectations. In three-way races, each riding has its own characteristics, such that even if polling indicates, say, a NDP minority, the way ridings are structured, the NDP might 'split' the left-centre vote and deliver particular ridings to Ford's party ...

For those willing to go down that road, sampling public opinion, there are two polling round-ups, an interactive via the CBC, and one from Strategy corp.

I will make a confident and probably wrong prediction that the election will be a squeaker. There seems to be a bit of volatility in these final days ...

polltrackerStrategyCorpJune3.png

Clinton hauled in more votes, but lost the electoral college. It's hard to make a direct comparison with our straightforward Westminster system.

Speaking of conceding in the face of overwhelming evidence (Wynne's dilemma solved), would you feel any cognitive dissonance if you accepted that Mr Trump is not popular in Canada?

Not really sure about the unpopularity of Trump in Canada . I’m in Toronto and I will agree that mostly I hear negative comments towards Trump in coffee shops , restaurants or overhearing conversations but in reality I very much believe most folks are simply afraid of being attacked ( verbally ) if they don’t repeat the mantra of Trump being a racist. , hating women , hating homosexuals which is totally false .

One last comment on Ontario politics ( though it is in reference to Trump / Clinton) is that my point was that Clinton lost and she would not concede and ran off to the woods like a 6 year old who took his ball home . Wynne destroyed our once great Province of Ontario and now she makes a political play by still desiring to be the King maker ( or Queen maker ) and that disgusted me .

It’s a ploy and it basically will backfire and totally guarantee Premiere Ford , his majority government .

Please ask your son to reconsider his first time voting experience and cast one for the Premiere , he may not understand it today , but trust me that he will in the future ,

Marc aka Mark

"Napolitano blasts Trump legal team for ‘sophomoric view of the law’"

For all the Faye Knuze about Fox personalities and scripts being sycophantic in re Donald Trump, players sometimes roast Presidential hires for perceived blunders. Here, former judge Andrew Napolitano  goes over recently unveiled White House legal shop moves and hoopla -- including the January 29 'who-leaked-it?' letter to Mueller from former legal leaders Sekulow and Dowd. Story from Morgan Gstalter at The Hill.

Judge Andrew Napolitano blasted President Trump's legal team during an appearance on Fox News Monday, arguing it was showing a “sophomoric view of the law" and that it was not serving the president well.

The senior judicial analyst for Fox News called the January memo from Trump’s legal team to special counsel Robert Mueller a "disgrace" and "very harmful" to the president's case.

He also faulted the leaking of the letter, saying he did not understand why the president's team would want it public given it had cited the wrong statute in one case an incorrectly interpreted an opinion in another.

“I don’t know how it got out,” Napolitano said. “I don’t know why the White House would have leaked it, as has been suggested, because it shows a sophomoric view of the law.”

“They are not serving him well when they needlessly show their cards,” Napolitano added during the appearance on “The Story” with Martha MacCallum.

Napolitano faulted the memo for arguing that the president can't be found to have obstructed justice, saying Trump's team forgot that a president can be found to have obstructed justice by ending a prosecution for a "corrupt purpose."

"They forgot that part," Napolitano said.

He also faulted Trump's team for saying that the president can "interfere" with an FBI investigation, saying it had missed an amendment to the relevant statute from 2002 that said the interference "with an FBI investigation intended to produce evidence is obstruction."

Napolitano said it was difficult for him to offer the criticism because he knows the leading members of Trump's legal team, Jay Sekulow and former New York City mayor Rudy Giuliani.

But he said they were not serving the president well. [...]

Xi, Putin and Trump are working together. All of the Putin/Trump tension over Syria was theater. Same for Xi and North Korea. There is no anger between these three. (But everyone is falling for it and that is beautiful.) Call it what you wish, let’s use Deep State. It got into NK and it got to or into Iran. These three are erasing it.

The next stages will be scarier because they will involve European nations that fell  to the Deep State. These will be liberated. Iran has already been liberated. It’s leaders are acting. They work for the Trump alliance and their country’s freedom. Iranian leaders will demand the Europeans keep trading with them or they will act out and expose who is getting bribed to keep the dirty Iran nuclear “deal” alive. Trump will severely economically punish the Europeans if they keep trading with Iran. Classic squeeze. Then exposure and real change.

As the action moves to Europe we will see Putin moving military assets and other scary things. The precious idiots will be back with the tired “Trump is getting us into WWIII” hysterics. And then it will all work out and, but for the details, peace will be made, just like in Korea and Syria. Macron is a puppet of the enemy, France is not free. May is a puppet of the enemy, Britain is not free. Many others. The Deep State blackmail and control will be removed and they will be freed.

Peace will come to the Korean people rapidly, as though it had been worked on quietly for many many months.

It’s funny because every President could not do anything to help this situation be it Clinton , Bush , Obama etc. Trump comes along , mocks him with the my burmtton is bigger than your button comment and the progressive liberal zealots go bonkers , the media flips shit , and now he is going to bring peace to the region , end the generational gulags , reunite families and much , much more .

If Obama achieved this , he would  have been Times “ man of the  millennium “ .

Yet , for The Emperor , this is just another day of incredible achievements .

Who is Judge Napolitano anyway ? Why am I watching a new show with a Judge talking about something that leaked ?

It reminds me of the “ no ground game arguement “ , “ Russia” ,  that porn star chick and all the other smoke and mirror , bait and switch blah blah .

It reminds me of that Charlie Brown pulling the ball away from Lucy or Linus or whoever .

Marc, Marc, Marc.  You are reading something posted because it it pertains  to whatever discussion was going on, you know that wss does not post extreaneous material  without warning.  And your spellcheck is disgraceful, it is "argument" not "arguement". Where was your spellcheck during Grade  9 English?

Happy election eve.

Miss Carol ,

Grade  9 English was Miss Anderson and she was so beautiful and all the boys loved her so much . Grade 10 was Miss Byrd and she ended out also teaching Spanish , but nonetheless I ended out getting an 80% on a George Bernard Shaw essay ( highest mark in my high school career ) , yet numerous spelling errors !

Wgat does “wss “ mean though ?

That being said though , I guess my point was is that any Judge who is blah blah blah’ing on tv , is not really that important to me in forming my views .

The President with no ground game probably has the best legal team ever built . The dream team could not carry these lawyers jock straps .

I think that Judges should not even speak to leaked documents on tv about the President anyway .

Please advise your son that even though he casted his ballot for the losing ticket , he should continue to vote .

Enjoy the election results and let’s hail our new Premiere !

Emperor Trump and his new General Ford , we are simply a mayor in Toronto and a PM in Ottawa away from a full sweep , hope you have a broom

Just watched this video again , and it is absolutely bizarre that President Trump can continue to play the exact same strategy and folks like this “ legal analyst “ for a tv show continue to take the bait .

Every time I think that Trump is the smartest human  on the planet , I am starting to think that he is the smartest person in history .

Football analogy here , a team keeps running up the middle and the coach says we’re gonna keep doing it till they stop us .

Trump keeps using the same strategy , and the media keeps swallowing it ( along with most posters in this board ) .

God Bless America,

A broom? Oh yeah, that floor thing, there's one here somewhere.

Must admit,Mr. Leland and Mr. Dencer in grades 9 and 10 were pretty inspirational teachers too.

I survived Mike Harris, so I guess I can tough out Ford.  Life won't be boring anyway.

The great thing about here  is that it is possible for everyone to win something usually out of our contests, even if only experience, it is not all winners/losers black and white forever. I campaigned for Bob Rae way back , the first time he ran for premier and of course lost - pretty doleful but not crushing. Everybody picked up and started again. No scorched earth.

So remember you are Canadian and do not gloat too hard if we all wake up to FordFest Forever on Friday!

Good luck to you and your candidate too.

Another takeaway from the FoxNews extract is that Napolitano is otherwise a fully-committed Trump supporter.  That is what makes the substance of his critique about the Sekulow et al letter possibly interesting.

A firm supporter of President Trump, offering a caution.

Why am I watching a new show with a Judge talking about something that leaked ?

What leaked out was a letter to the Special Counsel from the President's then-lawyers.  If you want to read the letter, it is here.

Quote

It reminds me of the “ no ground game arguement “ , “ Russia” ,  that porn star chick and all the other smoke and mirror , bait and switch blah blah .

It reminds me of that Charlie Brown pulling the ball away from Lucy or Linus or whoever .

It reminds me that criticizing the legal maneuverings of the former legal team is fraught with peril -- the peril being that a good-faith critique of tactics and strategy of the former  legal honchos will land you in a paddock called "Trump Haters, ingrates, fools, drunkards and etcetera ..."

"Russia" is much meme-ery -- for some a naggy feeling that something isn't quite right in the relationship between the Trump campaign and the Russian autocracy.  Since the election, the President has picked fights with Europe as EU, the UK, France, Canada, Germany ... while giving mostly smoochy and approving words for President Putin.

I guess if I favour an American Emperor/Strongman, I can't complain about foreigners adopting the same thing for their executives. Why hello, Mr Erdogan!

But, what did the letter suggest?  Well, notably, that the President cannot be compelled to answer questions under oath by the Special Counsel investigation. That he is above the law.  Which kind of argument led to Bill Clinton's questioning under oath -- and to his impeachment.

The simplest, most Emperor slash Czar-like thing to do would be to fire Attorney-General Jeff Sessions, order a criminal charge against James Comey,  gut the FBI with a nice purge, fire Mueller, demand that the inquiry be wrapped up, then pardon Manafort, Papadopoulous, Flynn and himself.  Because the President can pardon himself, argues the President and his current personal lawyer ... indeed, that lawyer said that the President could shoot James Comey to death and no charges could be brought against him.

Could be tempting.

Spoiler
