Selene
Gulch:In addition to a phone call, a separate e-mail and with a Congressman an actual snail mail. Using all three maximizes the impact, if there is going to be one significantly.Of course, I would be courteous, avoid any edge or conspiracy type words, just that a neighbor of yours had mentioned this bill while we were talking about transparency in government.Adam

I did send him emails at the time of the bailouts and received a form letter thanking me for my concerns but that he had to do what he thought best for his constituents. So he voted for the bailouts twice. I had admonished him that the result would not be in the interests of his constituents because of the massive inflation the bailouts are more than likely to cause. Bernanke has said he will print up as much money as necessary to cure the recession!gulch

It really does not matter sending things in triplicate to his office.Massachusetts Congressman Mr. McGovern:87% rating ACLU100% rating by NACCP and 100% by the ADA http://www.adaction.org/media/votingrecords/2008.pdfAdam

They seem to unable to understand the danger to freedom and the economy from their statist policies, and unwilling to understand the danger to the republic from external threats (terrorism, re-ascendant hostile nations, etc...).Bill P

Politics has been called the art of persuasion. I think we are going to see hidden premises revealed in political debate to the extent that candidates who understand Objectivism and Austrian economics enter the fray, thanks to the existence of the Campaign For Liberty, despite its flaws. Now that Obama is in power and his intentions and lies are becoming evident the electorate may have second thoughts although many remain enamored by his superficially innocuous manner. Truly a wolf in sheep's clothing. I agree that the politicians are mostly ignorant in the realm of economics, etc.www.campaignforliberty.com 22Mar 5AM 125806gulch Edited March 22, 2009 by galtgulch

syrakusos
... the electorate may have second thoughts ...Assuming that the word "thought" has an objective definition, if this is to be their second, what was their first thought?
Chris Grieb
I wanted to add the suggestion that when you try and contact don't use the Capitol switchboard. Find the number of the Congressperson or Senator. Almost all of them have websites and the number can be found there.
Selene
Chris:Yep. I should have mentioned the websites - usually at the bottom of the page in light grey are contact the "secluded" contact numbers.Nice pick up.Adam
