kori3.gifkori11.gif Happy Birthday, Girlie Girl !!! kori11.gifkori4.gif

YaY !!! It's Kori's 18th B-day today. Cheers, honey. kori15.gif I can hardly believe it, you're finally legal. Girlie Girl, I hope you thoroughly enjoy your day today and get what you want. I know when my b-day was around and I was your age either spankings or punches were in order, just friends playing around. Damn, that could be a bit painful, 18 of 'em. OUCH ;) But since you are a BAMF, I'm sure your friends would think twice before messing with ya. But then again, you're a rough houser just as I was at that age so the pinning down and getting spanked or punched in the arm just might happen.

Eat lots of cake.gif as I know you will and don't party too hard kori8.gif. I'm sure you won't go too overboard.

Happy B-day, Girl, and hope you have many more to come.

Love lots,

Angie

Damn, Tootsie! You keeping pulling me back in! [This is a loose parody take on a line from The God Father]. Retiring from message boards is near impossible when chicks like you are here. Damn! And what kind of an ass would I be if I didn’t acknowledge your birthday? Hell, I can remember when I was 18…ten years ago. (Okay, shut up now—no lip from you). Really, Tootsie, have a happy, happy, happy birthday, legal girl. :cheer:

WHOOOOOOOOOOOOO-HOOOOOOOOOOOO

Love--VICTOR (hope you liked my Al Pacino impression)

Thanks, Angie! And I feel bad because I didn't know your birthday until only about a month ago (late December?). I'm not partying hard. I haven't even had a birthday party since I was probably 12. I just open presents and eat dinner with the fam (had chicken stir fry, yuuuuuuuum!). I don't care much about it. I don't hang out with my friends on my birthday 'cause I just like to kinda chill alone (dwamn, I sound like a downer). This day was the longest fucking day of my life. Went to work and was so bored I coulda vomited. *shrug* I got some money and an Elvis CD (Moody Blue). I was going to go shopping, but I don't even know what to buy right now. Still, it's great to have money 'cause I just spent all my money on a car (WOoot!). :) Legal now? I believe that the age of consent (or whatever) is 17 in Missouri (or so I'm told). Tee-hee! Thank you again! 'Twas very thoughtful of you.

Angie,

You beat me to it.

Happy birthday Kori.

I am glad you are with us.

Really glad.

Michael

Thank you, Michael. I am extremely glad to be here. You don't know what this place means to me.

Damn, Tootsie! You keeping pulling me back in! [This is a loose parody take on a line from The God Father]. Retiring from message boards is near impossible when chicks like you are here. Damn! You would be a majorly shitty ass if you didn't acknowledge my birthday. And being on message boards is damn near impossible when chicks (uhhh, I mean...dudes) like you aren't here. Hey, as far as I'm concerned, you're still 18, dawg. You're 18 with out all the...18-ness. Of course I loved your Pacino impression, but it can't top my Stallone impression. *mumbles incoherently*

Kori; Let me join the chorus. HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

Only a chorus? Give me a damn verse, Chris.:)

to you.

Happy Birthday to you.

dear Kori.

to you!

Have a great birthday. I now crown you WOMAN!! :queen:

Hugs,

Kat

Thanks, Kat. Cute vids! I especially liked the nakey dancer man. :twitch: Oh, sir, remove those panties!

Woman? Hmmm...I don't think so. I certainly don't feel like one. Shit, I still feel strange when I hold my car keys. They let me drive?!

__________________________________________________________

Thank you all again for the birthday wishes. you all and  you all.

NOW, I'm off to go buy porn, cigarettes, and lotto tickets and use them all simultaneously. Should be a fun night. Well, it would be if I actually liked any of those things. LOL.

Tootsie! Now you gone and done it! You mention the Elvis CD (Moody Blue) and how am I suppose to not respond!? Tell me!! Oh, damn it…what’s the use. Well, not more active posting like before, but I love interacting with you.

Anyway, this is not Elvis’ best work and it’s one of his last albums. The handful of songs I like from Moody Blue would be:

*Way down (ironic music lyric here: “The medicine within me…”)

*Moody Blue (last hit, then he died:{

*Pledging my Love (gorgeous love song).

*Hurt (Strong soulful vocals here).

*Blue eyes crying in the rain (sad, baby, real poignant song).

*Unchained Melody (Elvis made it his own).

And, Tootsie, following up on your request in recommending some CDs for ya, I warn you the following is highly subjective, but give me a chance:

ELVIS—The Sun Collection! (Elvis’s FIRST recordings and he was 18-19 years of age and he rocks!) I love a lot of the songs on this. Elvis rocks “Baby, let’s play house” and “Trying to get to you” and “Mystery Train” and…Get it! Do it!

LED ZEPPLIN: Their first album. (The black and white album with the giant zeppelin crashing to the ground). To hell with it, get everything from them.

Lily Frost: Cine-Monique (This is a ridiculously beautiful piece of musicianship and heart-felt stuff from an underrated artist.

54-40: Since When (I love it…maybe you will, too.

Beatles: ABBY ROAD (Get it! Don’t argue with me! Do it!; might as well get the WHITE CD, too!)

Electric Light Orchestra: ELDORODO (Classical music meets rock---FANTASTIC!

PORTISHEAD: Dummy. (This is some major Goth down beat (well-done) and melodic tuneage here.

Yeah, yeah, yeah, old school coming at you! So what? Sister, you asked for it! :turned:

Nah, no need to feel bad about my b-day. You didn't know. Just like you, I don't celebrate my b-day with a huge party, tons of nightlife, etc., such as my sister does. A nice romantic dinner, etc., will suit me just fine and prefer this over a noisy party, etc. It seems we both are pretty solitary.

Well, honey, considering the long day for you, I do hope you enjoyed some of it as you could. Victor has some great suggestions for you and music. Enjoy the Elvis CD and definitely enjoy the car you bought as well as the cash in your pocket !! To go along with the porn, cigs, and lotto tickets, you can't forget to get the bottle of whiskey too. ;)

Deezamn, thanks, Victor. I'm just about to go to Amazon so I can check out previews of those CDs you listed. I won't get them all right this second, but will get a couple tomorrow. Ah, Sunday shoppin' in my brand new (1996) car. I'm especially looking forward to hearing this Electric Light Orchestra for the first time. I love classical, and you know I love rock!

As for Moody Blue, I haven't had the chance to listen to it all yet. I'm excited to do so though. Ah, Elvis, you make my heart sing. *melts*

(Old school ain't so bad, brotha ;))

I did enjoy some of it. I just get anxious when everybody's hangin' around the house (at least at work it was just me and my boss). Anyway, it was pretty good, but I wish my sister was here. I'm sure I'll be in a better mood tomorrow.

Angie, I so AM enjoying my car. For one, I paid for it with my own money. Also, it RUNS! It takes me places! My god...freeeeeeeeeedom!

Porn, cigs, lotto, AND whiskey? Shit, biotch, I don't know if I could handle all the excitement. Ah...yes, I could! Hell, I shoulda gotten my b-day money in ones so I could go to a strip club. *sigh* I'm grossin' myself out. I need a bath. :frantics:

I think I'll just relax and crack open a 40-year-old (that would work better if I was a dude)...I mean...a beer...uhhh....I'ma just relax.

Honestly, I so can't take any of this seriously and is so not my thing. Honestly, I find it to be pathetically hilarious. I find myself laughing so hard to the point of tears. I find myself cracking jokes about something or other; such as the Village People or the guy that was dancing and that fog stuff started to come on stage and he stood right in front of it and it so looked like it was coming from someplace else. YIKES LMAO Watch out for the silent but deadly. That's some toxic shit. LOL Oh, god, bustin' a gut now. Oh, hell, I couldnt' tell you how hard I was busting up. Well, enjoy the show however you may view it, either erotic and sexy or a great night out at the comedy club. LOL

"After I do this show, I'ma go get into a barfight, RAWR!" I'm not sure if I even want to know what this 'inside thing' is. LMAO. Victor wants to strip for you, doesn't he? You've crushed his dreams by calling it silly! How couldja?! It's okay, Victor, your pride will be restored one day. You can just keep wearin' that thong under your pants. Nobody has to know.

The only thing I feel comfortable with is stripping a gear while driving down a stretch of road with Angie by my side. Nobody gets to see this buff bod! Why, I even shower with my snow mobile suit on! (Sorry, Angie hon, I didn't tell you about this earlier).

Snow mobile suit? :homestar: Now you've got me going. Forget those Village People wannabes. Nothing I love more than a man who is tough enough to wear some thick gear in blisteringly hot temperatures (mmmm, Power Rangers...okay, that's not real thick).

I think now you may crush Angie's dreams...I know that deep down she wanted to see you prance around in a thong. She done tole me! Okay...not really.

P.S. I always thought it'd be thuper thexy to wear some undies that say "chocolate factory" on the ass. Ohh yeah. *porno bassline*

Happy Birthday Kori - from this side of the pond. Enjoy and wallow in all those new-found pleasures!!

Reading about Canadian Mounties just reminded me of the Lumberjack Song.....hope you enjoy!

Plus two great classics for the birthday mood: Dvorak Carnival Overture and Berlioz Le Carnaval Romain.

All the best!

Thanks, Peter! That lumberjack song had me cracking up. My sis goes to Northern Arizona University and her school mascot is a lumberjack. There is this looney looking statue of the mascot on campus. So funny!

I don't think I've heard those classical pieces before, but I'm looking them up. With the word 'carnival' in 'em, how could they not be good? :)

Oh, snap, here's the lumberjack!

No joke, guys. Tonight (a DAY after my 18th b-day) I went to Red Lobster with my parents and the lady who seated us pulled out a children's menu and crayons. When I got closer, she turned around again and grabbed an adult menu (while mumbling, "My bad"). WTF!? This has happened at least 3 other times.

At least she corrected herself. :getlost:

I bought a few Elvis ones :hyper: (Elvis Presley, Elvis, Elvis at Sun). Now I don't feel so guilty about downloading. I also bought the Aloha from Hawaii DVD. Plus, I got K-OS (Atlantis), Rob Zombie Greatest Hits, and Atmosphere (You Can't Imagine How Much Fun We're Having). I just gotta get me some rap.

I know, tsk tsk, I didn't buy any of the ones you mentioned except Elvis at Sun. Still, I have plenty of money left, so I will further sample those CDs 'fore I go hastily purchasing them. :frantics:

The Sun recordings of Elvis are not only rocking tunes with the 18-year-old Presley whopping it up and clearly having a good time. Those tracks have a historical significance and Elvis, at Sun, gave birth to a new form of music that has influenced the music we listen to ---to this day. THIS is where it started. Many of those tracks are originally country weepers, such as “Milk Cow Blues Boogie” with Elvis giving it a jazzed-up black feel to it. He fused black and country music creating a clearly distinctive sound. To hear the original tune as sung by the country singer and Elvis’ version is like night and day. Tootsie, you have in your hands a very important chunk of revolutionary pop history.

Now, name some of the tunes on your other CDs there, Elvis Presley and Elvis, and I’ll know which ones you mean.

Good choices, Tootsie! Wow, you are really on an Elvis kick. :turned:

Elvis Presley: This is Elvis’ first record with RCA Victor after leaving Sun. RCA bought out Elvis’ contract from Sam Phillips, the proprietor of Sun, for 25-grand---dirt cheap for this promising star. Foolish! He could have got so much more. You’ll note that there are some Sun tracks on this CD with new RCA recordings,* such as “Heartbreak Hotel” -- which was a monster hit. I really like Elvis’ take on “I got a woman.” I also like "Money Honey" and "My baby left me."

Elvis: Yet again, an interesting amalgamation of white C&W (Country and Western) [“Old Shep”] and Black Rhythm and Blues [“Long Tall Sally” and “Ready Teddy”]. Here are more albums that showcase the man and his art, the two musical forces that influenced Elvis in childhood ---and in a segregated South and this truck driver knocked down the wall making this music as ONE.

I need to turn Angie on to the King. She knows little of him.

*(The reason for this is that RCA wanted to exploit this hot new property and get the music out on the market, and they didn’t want to wait for Elvis to record a whole album, so they re-released this album with new and old).

edit: You NEED to now include KING CREOLE to your collection. Do it! http://www.amazon.com/King-Creole-1958-Elv...y/dp/B000002X2S

Tootsie, let me continue to be your Elvis guide. B)

You have been gathering much of Elvis’s 1950s works, and it's wonderful that you are exposing yourself to all types of musical landscapes! According to the Elvis myth, all of the King’s best work was completed between 1954 to 1959...and then...nothing. This is just too simple to be true. Take it from this expert Elvis-ologist, [hee-hee] there is a lot of rich work to be found past 1959. For example, in the “Memphis Sessions” there is an astonishing return into Elvis rediscovering his musical roots. With what is also called “1969 sessions” you have “In the Ghetto” and “Don’t cry, Daddy” and “Kentucky Rain” ---some of the most meaningful lyrics that Elvis ever recorded. Plus, you have rock and roll and soul as well—with tunes like “Power of my love” and “Stranger in my own home town.” The recording session took place at Chips Moman's American Studios in early 1969. They proved that after years in the wilderness of lame Beach and Race car movie tracks, Elvis was still a vibrant and essential force in pop culture. Get this CD. Do it!
