Danneskjold
Everybody loves Christmas presents, giving, getting, everyone has their thing. So what were the gifts (given or recieved) that you enjoyed most?Mine:Favorite: Mac laptop that I am using right now. Favorite gift by far! My parents must be pretty happy with me or something.2nd favorite: Every Christmas morning I wake up an hour or two before the rest of everyone in my house (4 or 5) and pretty up the living room by the Christmas tree, set out snacks, all that stuff. I do this on my own accord. This year I did it really nice and I loved seeing the look on my mom's face when she saw basically every candle in the house lit up around our Christmas tree. It looked really nice.Miscellaneous list of cool stuff:Batting glovesPine tarBaseball batChocolateBaseball bagRandom small items. What'd you guys get/give? Chris Grieb
Jeff; I got some new and warmer pj's. Some warmer blankets. Global warming hasn't come to my apartment. What do use pine tar for? Merry Christmas Jeff and thanks for all your contributions to Objectivist Living.
Danneskjold
Well, I hope that Global Warming reaches your place quickly. I'll do my part in helping it along. I need the pine tar for my wooden bat so that I can grip it, leather gloves on wood bat doesn't grip great. Also, to take cue from Chris a bit, thank you Chris for your numerous contributions, everyone else that contributes for making this place fun, and of course MSK for always being around with a helping hand and for starting this place up and for all the numerous other things that I am sure are required of you in order to keep this place running smoothly. Danneskjold
Ya, the laptop is pretty badass. The thing is that the AIM program is kinda screwy, and I can't use MSN on it because MSN requires a microsoft operating system. Pisses me off a bit but I'll live. I'm working on getting Microsoft Office on there but there are some kinks in this thing. I'll deal though. The really cool part is the webcam built into it, along with a bunch of other stuff. The thing is really nice.

Laure
Jeff, have you seen meebo.com? Lets you use Yahoo Messenger, MSN Messenger, etc, from a browser app. It probably works on Macs.Oh, and I got a Wacom digitizer tablet. Lots of fun! BAMF
What is a digitizer tablet?
Laure
It is an input device like a mouse only you can draw on it with a pen so you have better control. Also, there are some software packages that take advantage of the pad's pressure sensitivity to make the pen act like a brush - you press harder and the brush stroke gets wider, for example. I guess it's kinda silly; if I wanted to paint, I should just paint, but I still think it's cool that you can simulate painting, chalk drawing, etc., on the computer. (and I don't have to clean up any brushes!)

Victor Pross
Angie and I are having our own private Christmas together—now, on Boxing Day! [hey, we are non-conformists]. We are going to open each other’s gifts while on the phone. This is the best we can do given our distance. So we’ll get to ya all reeeeal soon! Victor Pross
This is what Angie got me: A collector’s magazine about Johnny Cash that was published in 1959. This was purchased from the Johnny Cash estate. She also got me four Cash DVDs. Here is a woman that knows the way to this man’s heart. What I got for Angie: Two Cash CDS [yeah, yeah, I know] and a DVD about Neil Pert from RUSH. A Beatles CD called “LOVE.” And finally, a kitten calendar. She also has my eternal love. BAMF
Damn, you two have lucky women. I think that "eternal love" is possibly the best gift idea I've ever heard...that would hold me over for AT LEAST two Christmases. Merry Christmas to everyone!
