Just thought these were interesting. A lot of great songs. I think maybe there should just be a separate list of "greatest Beatles songs/albums."

Seems to be a rather Boomercentric list, don't you think? Oh, yea, it's Rolling Stone.

Kori, what would be your top ten songs and top ten albums of all time?

Here are mine:

Top 10 Songs

10: Something-the Beatles

9: Heroes-David Bowie

8: Love Will Tear Us Apart-Joy Division

7: God Bless The Child-Billie Holiday

6: Blowin In The Wind-Bob Dylan

5: Fool On The Hill-The Beatles

4: Blue Eyes Crying In The Rain-Willie Nelson

3: That's Entertainment-the Jam

2: I'm So Lonesome I Could Cry-Hank Williams

1: In My life-the Beales

Top 10 albums:

10: Sweetheart Of The Rodeo-The Byrds

9: The Doors-The Doors

8: Tapestry-Carol King

7: Blue Joni Mitchell

6: Los Angeles-X

5: Let It Be-The Replacements

4: Harvest-Neil young

3: Are You Experienced-The Jimi Hendrix Experience

2: The Freewheelin' Bob Dylan-Bob Dylan

1: Kind Of Blue-Miles Davis

Of course in a top ten list you always leave something out. My apologies in advance.

Mick

Thanks Kori, this is very cool. I'm glad my favorite band is all over the top of the list. You know I'm a huge Beatle fan. Yeah! Yeah! Yeah! I wouldn't even be able to pick a top ten list. Mick, you must have seen High Fidelity to be able to whip those out like that. :)

Top 5 Beatles albums:

1 - Revolver

2 - Abbey Road

3 - Let It Be

4 - Sgt. Pepper

5 - Magical Mystery Tour

hmmmm... this couldn't be right because the White Album belongs in the list too and I didn't even include any early Beatles. Tough choices.

Rock on,

Kat

Yeah, lists like these tend to be....incomplete. I did think there were quite a few great songs on it though (even though I don't believe enough rap/hip-hop was on the list. Or even classical...this list just isn't complete.

I CANNOT choose favorite albums/songs very well. I haven't even heard all the great albums that I know are out there, but I will attempt. In no particular order:

ALBUMS:

Eminem - The Marshall Mathers LP

Eminem - The Slim Shady LP

Tool - Aenima

Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas Soundtrack

Nine Inch Nails - Pretty Hate Machine

A Perfect Circle - Thirteenth Step

Prodigy - Fat of the Land

SONGS:

The Cranberries - Zombie

Elton John - Your Song

The Beatles - Help!

Elvis - Jailhouse Rock

Eminem - Stan

Falco - Rock Me, Amadeus

Marilyn Manson - The Beautiful People

Method Man/ Redman - Da Rockwilder

Nas - One Mic

Radiohead - Creep

Don McClean - American Pie

Tom Petty - Last Dance With Mary Jane

Immortal Technique - Dance With the Devil

Beethoven - Moonlight Sonata

Rush - Spirit of Radio

Aw, screw it. So it's either over 10 or under 10. I just rattled them off, and I don't necessarily think that they are all the best songs/albums of ALL TIME! Just some of my favorites.
