Michael Stuart Kelly
Jokes About Writing Just because, I want a thread devoted to writing humor. So here it is. And, without apology, in Homeric shamelessness, let me kick it off. Q. Do you know why Shakespeare wrote with a quill and not a pencil? A. He never knew which pencil to use. He even put the dilemma in a play. "2B or not 2B. That is the question..." Michael
Michael Stuart Kelly
Just to make sure to remind folks we can do writing humor with images, the following meme has no real image other than fonts, and it's not that funny. But it really needs to be here on this thread. Michael

Michael Stuart Kelly
LOL... I got this from here, but I have a feeling it's from all over and around. This is exactly what I feel like when I sit down to write fiction. Or talk about anything for that matter. Michael
Michael Stuart Kelly
This is exactly what mapping out a new story feels like. For the writer, it comes with an emotion of weariness, too. Michael
Michael Stuart Kelly
Even Ayn Rand, in her fiction writing instruction, said to shovel trouble on the hero and make him or her suffer. Michael Stuart Kelly
I could have sworn I put something in this thread a few days ago and now it's missing. The forum had a glitch during an upgrade, so that must be the problem. If I remember what I posted, I will post it again. For now, there's this meme I found. Michael You,re right, it isn't all that funny, but writers must hold the world,s record for procrastination ( probably because they have the time to do it) My favourite iteration of this endless problem is a writer quote (I forget which writer but I am too honourable to just steal their work): "I don't like writing,I hate writing, I can't stand it. I like having written, though."
Michael Stuart Kelly
Daily travails of the writer's life. Finding just the right word: Michael EDIT: Facebook crapped out on hosting the image. Michael Stuart Kelly
This image of a tweet has been making the rounds. Michael Stuart Kelly
I was sent this offline. This is far more than a joke, but it's here because it's funny. Quote There is a close association between writing & magic. The word "grimoire" (a book of spells) led to our modern word "grammar." It's called Spell(ing) for a reason. What would Rand think? Michael Stuart Kelly
This is not exactly a joke, but it is funny. Damn if it isn't true. btw - I found this out there on the Interwebs. 1. Young protagonist. 2. Orphaned. 3. Old bearded mentor. 4. Magic powers. 5. Super-villain wanting to rule the world. 6. Bad dude who wants redemption. Jeez... That's too close for comfort... Michael
