Mark
From a review of John Mackey's Conscious Capitalism: Liberating the Heroic Spirit of Business (Ayn Rand once called Milton Friedman almost her exact opposite, but looking through Mackey's dim intellectual lense they appear similar):Although he calls free enterprise and entrepreneurship the source of “unprecedented prosperity for humanity,” Mackey challenges the philosophical vanguards of capitalism, Ayn Rand and Milton Friedman. He rejects the Randian notion that “selfishness” and “greed” are virtues ... Obviously he hasn't read Ayn Rand with any understanding.
syrakusos
I disagree. He has read Ayn Rand. He did understand what he read. He just disagreed with it for reasons of his own. He obviously does well in business. Objectivists have this same problem George Soros, Bill Gates, and others whom we feel ought to agree with us for what can only be called "religious" reasons.
