> The discussion of the larva's anus and the avatar from hell were serious? [MSK, 100]

Don't remember what you're referring to, but sometimes if the audience is a bunch of drunks in a bar, you descend to the dirty-joke-hey-man-look-at-those-titties level rather than a high-powered discussion of the epistemology of categorical and hypothetical propositions...

(Yes, I know Stephen B. keeps trying to post about serious philosophical issues here, but that's like trying to teach a ham sandwich to fly..)

Phil,

How about the posts immediately preceding yours?

All you had to do is scroll up and the posts are right there in front of you! What's more, there are no others discussing anything serious.

God, you're so lazy it's not funny.

The scroll bar is the vertical bar lining the right of your computer screen with the little slidey thingie in it.

btw - Stephen does not "keep trying to post." He actually does post, not that you would be reading that stuff. He keeps out of the bickering, so I doubt he has anything of interest for you. And I really, really, really doubt you trying to drag him into the bickering right now will work.

Not interested enuff to waste time.

You or someone else posts something serious and substantive, I'll read it though.

> yet another discussion of Phil

In case you haven't figured out how this works:

We have a serious discussion of a topic. Someone takes offense at my views and... [yadda yadda yadda]...

The discussion of the larva's anus and the avatar from hell were serious?

This is actually part of the “making it all about Phil” strategy. Notice how successful it is. Phil, you need a puppy, try a maltese.

The Dark Crystal is a good guess. This character comes from the same decade. Dark Crystal's debut was in 1982 and this character's debut was 1985.

Hmm, he looks like a Henson/Oz creation, and I haven’t seen The Dark Crystal in ages, that’s why I guessed that.

Phil,

Sure you are.

You constantly take the effort to post about stuff that has a similar level of lack of seriousness.

Sometimes really long posts, too.

Maybe you mean you are not interested enough in accuracy to check what you criticize? That you prize laziness?

Nope.

Nice try, though.

Ok, here's the hint that should conclude our guessing game. He is actually a George Lucas creation.

<div><img src="http://www.starwars.com/databank/character/teek/img/eu_sm.jpg" style="float:left;padding-right:12px">Final hints: not an Ewok . . .

'A scruffy, mischievous creature that stands under a meter tall, the being known as XXXX has a close-set eyes, buck-teeth, and often speaks with a giggle. His enormously fast metabolism grants him lightning-quick speed, and he is able to run and do other tasks in a blur.

XXXX is actually a representative of a rare and semi-intelligent species native to Endor, also called XXXXs. These creatures scavenge and steal things from animal nests and Ewok dwellings. Most Ewoks don't like XXXXs, finding them to be pests.'</div>

I don't include a link for the redacted excerpt above. I want Phil Coates to have a chance to win this guess game fair and square.

PS -- I cheated and used TinEye reverse image lookup.

Uh--you're actually George Lucas?

slow on the uptake

Lol, no. I'm not George Lucas. The creature in my avatar, however, is a character in a George Lucas production.

It must be Star Wars, a Wiki?

From 1985? Tell him, Mr. Cochran:

Alright, alright, I know the answer. I haven't seen that one, actually. Is it better than the "Holiday Special"?
