The image of the black-clad Clinton profile may seem familiar to those who love either Argentinean history or musical theater — specifically Andrew Lloyd Weber's "Evita."

The 1978 musical told the story of Eva Peron, the actress turned first lady of Argentina. Seen as ruthless and cunning, she and her husband drew support from the "descamisados," or the poor and the working class, to climb to power. She eyed her own political success as well, campaigning for vice president before she died from cancer at the age of just 33. The muscial was briefly revived on Broadway in 2012.

Clinton calls for Congress to stop Medicare premium hike (link).

“I am deeply concerned by how this could harm Medicare beneficiaries," Clinton said in a statement. "This is outrageous and senseless, and Congress must act to fix the law."

Why when the premium hike affects only higher income people?

The increase is expected to affect those who receive Medicare but not Social Security, and those with incomes higher than $85,000 for individuals or $170,000 for couples.

Is she being a demagogue as usual -- insinuating the premium hike will affect all Medicare beneficiaries despite that being blatantly false?

"Demagogue" is spelled "whore."

She doesn't even stand out like the "whore" in a one-whore town...

This was an interesting moment in that "hearing."

WASH POST COVERS UP HILLARY HYPO

Fri Oct 23 2015 16:41:45 ET

The WASHINGTON POST on Friday declared Hillary Clinton does not suffer from hypothyroidism -- even though her own doctor says she does!

Symptoms of low thyroid function include: Fatigue, hoarseness and impaired memory.

Reporter Phillip Bump, consulting with his own doctor, Philip Weintraub, diagnosed Clinton as having 'normal thyroid function' based on her Benghazi performance.

But Hillary's internist revealed in August how the Dem front-runner's medical conditions 'include hypothyroidism.'

MORE

Clinton takes a daily dose of dried and crushed pig glands for treatment.

Hillary's health was once again in the spotlight during the final hours of the Benghazi hearing on Thursday. A serious coughing fit raised eyebrows, along with slow body movements and labored breathing.

The canidiate claims she was 'meditating' during breaks.

EDITOR'S NOTE: Hillary's internist did not specify if she suffers from Hashimoto's Thyroiditis, a more serious auto-immune disease.

Wiping the pig grease off his nose, Mark Halpern of Bloomberg has this to say:

Hillary has shown she can handle Bernie Sanders, despite his plucky persona, raw grassroots appeal, and authentic authenticity.

My dead Irish Setter could "handle" the Brooklyn Hebrew from Vermont...he freaking honeymooned in the Communist Soviet Union for goodness sake.

Hillary is getting better at managing (and shaking off) the personal pang of her likability deficit.

No one else has.

Hillary’s campaign is much less tense and fractious than was the 2008 team.

All the marxist have been brain washed and dry cleaned into good little slavers.

Hillary has a first-class opposition research team that is saving nuggets to use once Republicans pick their nominee. Oppo veteran Christina Reynolds heads an operation that can afford to play a long game, teasing out incremental research in conjunction with allies such as the Democratic National Committee but knowing full well that holding back powerful tidbits until the late spring or summer, when the eventual Republican nominee will be most vulnerable, is supremely smart. The research operations of the Republican presidential campaigns, on the other hand, are currently focused on each other (although the independent group America Rising is hoping to make up the gap).

This is one of Evita's best attributes.

Hillary’s pollster knows how to find issues that test 80-20 or 70-30, and the candidate knows how to translate them on the stump.

Stick their poll up Evita's ass and she will perform it on the stump with her head bobbing monotonous monotone.

Here is what the next Republican candidate is up against with the mainstream press and Hillary.

Marco Rubio scored a major point last night in the GOP debate when he said that the mainstream press was Hillary's Super PAC.

He said, in the Benghazi hearings, she admitted she told her family and others that the attack on the Benghazi compound was from terrorists, but told the public and family of the deceased that it was not terrorists, but a spontaneous uprising due to a YouTube video. And she kept telling everybody that for quite a while.

Then he said the press celebrated Hillary's performance in the hearings, extolling her for what a great week she had, when in truth, she had been exposed as a liar.

Look at how Charlie Rose can't get his mind around the fact that a Senator would call Hillary a liar, even after she admitted to lying. Charlie just doesn't want to accept the fact.

If you want to see what a Randian villain "blank-out" moment looks like, look at Charlie's face as he tries to interrogate Rubio.

I don't believe Charlie Rose is a Randian villain (he does some great interviews at times), but he sure has his Randian villain moments...

It's quite funny once you see it.

What's worse, he will not be alone with his deer in the headlights mental freeze during the election when more dirt on Hillary comes out. There will be lots of Hillary supporting mainstream journalists and celebrities who will look stupefied, too. That is, right before they try not to see it and produce more propaganda as they tell themselves they are being objective.

Blank-out.

Michael

Damn, Evita just got lucky...I thought this guy would be a white O'bama...

Lessig was targeting the election and campaign finance system in his campaign and had raised $1 million through Kickstarter. But in a video posted at his campaign website, Lessig says the Democratic Party changed the rules for inclusion in the debate, and “under the new rule unless we can time travel there is no way that I will qualify.” The Washington Times and the Boston Globe have stories.

Hell of a law prof...hope he does not teach election law...

Evita did a dance!

No problem giving Evita the sweeping powers of the Chief Executive of the US:

“They threatened me,” Masada told Judicial Watch. “I have received complains before but never a call like this, threatening to put me out of business if I don’t cut the video.”

Imagine this Alinsky radical with the power of life and death...

The five short performances that Clinton wants eliminated include some profanity and portions could be considered crass, but some of the lines are funny and that’s what the Laugh Factory is all about. The video features the individual acts of five comedians, four men and a woman. The skits make fun of Clinton’s wardrobe, her age, sexual orientation, the Monica Lewinsky scandal and the former First Lady’s relationship with her famous husband. The Laugh Factory has appropriately titled it “Hillary vs. The First Amendment.”

Evita has her hit persons threaten you and you know she means it, ask Vince Foster, oops, guess we can't do that, can we:

Masada told Judicial Watch that, as soon as the video got posted on the Laugh Factory website, he received a phone call from a “prominent” person inside Clinton’s campaign. “He said the video was disgusting and asked who put me up to this,” Masada said. The Clinton staffer, who Masada did not want to identify, also demanded to know the names and phone numbers of the comedians that appear in the video. Masada refused and hung up. He insists that the comedy stage is a sanctuary for freedom of speech no matter who is offended. “Just last night we had (Emmy-award winner) Dana Carvey doing Donald Trump and it was hilarious,” Masada said.

Hillary attacks Bernie for his proposing to raise taxes on the middle class to launch single-payer health care. The left wing Slate defends Bernie. (Link).

The alleged Clinton spokesperson can do 2nd grade math. 2.2% + 6.7% = 8.9%, which rounds to 9%. However, the 6.7% tax rate is on employers, not employees. A more deceitful demagogue could top that. The current FICA rate on employees is 6.2% (OASDI) + 1.45% (Medicare)= 7.65%. 2.2%/7.65% = 29%. 2.2%/1.45% = 152%!!

I'm going to predict Hillary is the next president.

It would be a logical continuation that the same people who voted for Obama twice will vote for Hillary. Additionally she will get a lot of votes from women. Bernie Sanders is too far left for America still, but Hillary will advance the socialism agenda much more covertly.

On the republican side, lets say it is Trump, he will be too far "right" for most people. So most people in the "middle" will choose Hillary over Trump. He has some opinions which appear too extreme for the "middle" person when it comes to immigrants or climate change.

Carson appears to have more moderate views than Trump, so I think he would do better. But I still put Hillary ahead of him.

Only in a country like Norway would Trump seem too far to the right for the American electorate. He's no neo-con. He's more a neo-liberal with some conservative even reactionary trappings. The left is upset because he is not of the left. The left wants to rule. Trump only wants to govern--however spasmodically. That's generally the nature of the Republicans. The Democrats have all gone to the left. The question of conservative vs liberal in the United States has gone completely obsolete.

You also don't begin to understand--I am speculating here--the enormous impact the unaffordable Affordable Care Act will have on the Democrats when Americans go to the polls next year. What Europeans have is socialized medicine. What the ACA is is overtly fascist medicine imposed by one political party on everybody else. What goes around is coming around. Big time.

--Brant,

Excellent and spot on.

The entire industry is now "coded," impersonal and confusing.

Ad to that the immense differential in deductibles, e.g., a $2,000.00 dollar family annual deductible, is now,

a $12, 000.00 deductible; premiums increases; serious difficulty finding an Dr. in network; Drs., "who aren't taking new patients;" coverage confusion; and that just scratches the surface.

You are right, I don't know how people are feeling about Obamacare. My experience is though, that a large number of people will stick to their camp (e.g. political party), even if their living condition is objectively getting worse. For people who support "big government", if things don't work out, the solution usually is even more government.
