  1. Wolf said something in a heated moment and backed off. Are you in heat all the time? You know this encounter is never going to take place. What are your particulars that make you so brave? Details: military experience, fighting background, years spent as a bouncer in a biker bar, martial arts degrees, height, weight, age, body composition, strength benchmarks, impress me with your physical prowess. Upgrade this picture: Are you "Wolf's" girlfriend? You're sure acting like it. J Just as I thought. Maybe one of your many, many, female admirers who send you personal messages on OL can chime in your defense. Or do you have an overactive imagination? Or are you just habitually dishonest?
  2. Sorry if I was misunderstood, but I didn't mean to suggest that I'd be backing off in regard to all of "Wolf's" shenanigans, but only in regard to his pathetic self-aggrandizement of his filmmaking talents. My pity involved my seeing what his career has produced and comparing it to his pissing on much, much better filmmakers. Normally I'd want to have a good laugh at such delusional hubris, but in this case it really is just too pathetic to enjoy any humor in it. Anyway, do you have a crush on "Wolf" or something? Has he conned you into thinking that he's the brilliant philosopher of law that he poses as being? I think that you're illustrating why charlatans target Objectivish-types. You're so easily manipulated. Someone comes along and claims to be Rand-influenced, and you go fucking gaga over them, despite their being quite anti-Objectivish in their ideas and behavior. Wake up, dupe! J I may disagree with Wolf on the details but we are passionate about the same things, liberty, justice, individualism. Wolf is interesting, you are not.

  4. Jonathan, I seem to remember you saying you were backing off. What accounts for your present assholery? Whatever you're doing there's a cat somewhere that can do better:
  5. Tom Perkins: The Truth about Carly Excerpt: " Critics often claim was fired at HP because she was unsuccessful. As a member of the board, I can tell you this is not true. In truth, it was the Board I was a part of that was ineffective and dysfunctional. The HP board of directors included family members of the founders. Carly worked with the hand she was dealt as best as one could. While Carly fought to save the company and the employees within, some board members fought for their own power or advancement. You see, some board members wanted to micro-manage the company, hand picking friends and allies to run divisions. This is no way to run a global company and Carly had the strength of character and courage of conviction to stand up to it and ultimately she lost her job because of it. While lesser leaders would have accepted offers of transition plans and graceful resignations, Carly would have none of that. Carly demanded to be fired. In order to restore peace to the board I voted to fire her. That was a mistake. In the months and years after Carly left, the Board of Directors remained dysfunctional. The Board members who plotted Carly’s ouster eventually resigned after an embarrassing investigation by Congress. " -Tom Perkins is the founder of the California venture capital firm Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers, arguably the most famous and successful VC firm in Silicon Valley history.
  6. A... Sounds like Bernie doesn't like separation of power and dreams of a dictatorship. Who would of thought a leftist would dream of absolute power? For "the people" [ignorant stupid helpless children that they are] of course. He means well I'm sure [sarc]. So now the other branches of government represent "corporate power". That's coup material. Maybe Obama will beat him to it.
  7. "On this morning's Meet The Press, Atlantic Magazine staff writer Molly Ball explains the troubles facing the Clinton campaign in 2016. She says understanding Hillary's ideology is quite simple because it is infinitely changeable: "I'm for whatever you're for and that's my identity." "

  9. Reply to Jonathan #135: Could be. "Scott had a love for good Scotch whisky, often making references to drinking or frequenting drinking establishments on more than one planet, even referring to himself once as an "old Aberdeen pub-crawler." (Star Trek V: The Final Frontier; TOS: "Wolf in the Fold")"
  10. I think the enterprise of LFC is part of the DNA of human culture and it is far better that it existed and is being talked about than if it never existed. Kudos to risk takers and dreamers. To you Wolf...
  11. Eastwood or Trump? " Sure, the former Celebrity Apprentice boss may be ahead in the polls for the GOP nomination, but a new survey conducted by Harris Poll reveals that it’s actually conservative Clint Eastwood whom Americans would rather vote for. When Harris Poll asked 2,039 adults whether the Oscar-winning director or business mogul, 69, would get their vote, 72 percent chose Eastwood, while 28 percent selected Trump. " Clint actually has experience as a politician...too bad he's 85.
  12. Donald Trumps big vulnerability "Trump is such a good salesman that he’s made bankruptcy—the art of the fail—seem like a sound business strategy. He’s turning out to be a gifted politician, after all."
  13. IBD: GOP's Deep Bench Shines "From Marco Rubio's firm grasp of foreign affairs to the re-energized repartees of Jeb Bush on matters personal and professional, from Chris Christie's full-throated demonstration of why he's succeeded in a dark-blue New Jersey to Carly Fiorina's razor-sharp responses on, well, you name it — we saw an outstanding display of principled and well-articulated views."
  14. People are really, really pissed at the do nothing Republican's running congress. When are they going to get the message [2010, 2014] to get off their stupid asses and do something? What unconstitutional gifts does Obama have in store for the country in the remainder of his term that our present republican led congress will find excuses to do nothing about?
  15. I watched the debate start to finish. Trump must be capturing the "none of the above" votes in the polls. In no way, in any of his answers, was his demeanor, knowledge of facts, purpose for running, better than any of the other candidates. Mike Huckabee sounded far better in his sincerity and grasp of purpose. I think the 'pissed off' voters will sort out who they really want to support in a few months. If the left and media thought Trump were a real threat they'd be attacking him. On the contrary, they are delighted with him. I don't think he'll last but I thank him for making the debate interesting, a few others besides Carly are showing some spine. I particularly liked Rubio.
  16. Rubio did very well, very sincere. Carly okay, didn't get as much time. Kasich much better than first debate. Walker okay. Rand better than I expected. Trump better behaved, no specifics, but came off better and was more polite and respectful towards the other candidates than expected. Bush did well. Carson weaker than expected. All in all as a whole a good showing, the three hours went fairly quickly. Didn't talk as much as they could have about the utter corruption in Washington under the present regime but evidently that's a given, they were trying to distinguish between each other. Nobody really stunk, all seemed liked they belonged there and said their piece. Up to the people to decide. I came away slightly more optimistic. I wish there were serious talk about ending entitlements and reducing the size of the regulatory machine and the $trillions of waste (peoples lives down a drain).
  17. 10 questions for Carly Fiorina
  18. Okay, name something you did that was wholly original, never done by someone else, not inspired by the known. It is only noteworthy to be original when you are correct. Tibor was right. You are being trivial. I've posted nearly 1500 posts on RoR in more than ten years, more than that on OL. I've been a product design engineer for decades, before that construction and landscaping. I've written poems and prose for my own amusement and for my family and loved ones. I've attempted to argue in favor of liberty and individualism at every opportunity since I was 18 years old. On being introduced to a new CPO on the Navy he said "Oh, I've heard of you, you're one of those sea lawyers". I was 20, I engaged in debates and won them against having a military draft with fellow sailors when I was in the military during the Viet Nam war. I lectured my shipmates out of Ayn Rands "Capitalism, the Unknown Ideal". I carried "Anthem" in my back pocket. I officated the wedding of my wife's daughter which I am very proud of, all 22 drafts of my comments. I hesitated to say this before now but I didn't finish your book because, to me, it read like a Batman comic. And I think your confidence that the rules of logic are sufficient to guide ones life through the unbelievably layered and fractal like complexity of physical and psychological and biological reality is naive to the point of absurdity. Life is action->mistake->action->mistake->action->mistake ad infinitum. Without losing your spirit. Then you die. Learn this.
  19. Donald Trumps business record. " Had the celebrity businessman and Republican presidential candidate invested his eventual share of his father’s real-estate company into a mutual fund of S&P 500 stocks in 1974, it would be worth nearly $3 billion today, thanks to the market’s performance over the past four decades. If he’d invested the $200 million that Forbes magazine determined he was worth in 1982 into that index fund, it would have grown to more than $8 billion today. Even the smaller figure exceeds the lower range of his possible net worth as reported to the Federal Election Commission, while the larger number exceeds by billions recent estimates of Trump’s worth by financial publications. And it would have come without the high-drama, roller-coaster career that has included four corporate bankruptcies. This begs a separate set of questions. How well would Trump “invest” taxpayers’ money? "
  20. Carly stands by her record. "“It’s only in politics that the facts don’t matter. I once described politics as the fact-free zone but with businesses you actually have numbers and results and they’re reported in excruciating detail every 90 days,” Fiorina said. “I had to stand and answer every question every 90 and if I misrepresented our numbers in any way I was held criminally liable. Now imagine if we held anybody else running to that standard. So yes, I’ll run on my record all day long.”"
  21. Thank you Donald: Look at this face
  22. Entrepreneurship, innovation and competition make life more difficult for others because when it works it makes what they previously did or thought obsolete. Original doesn't always mean better ideas, but better always comes from original. Is that what you mean?
  23. There are infinite ways to be original. If your highest value is originality, you never correct your mistakes. Being right is very, very hard.
