  1. In Israel the borders are so tight and protected that they would know if a mouse or a cockroach or even a mosquito crossed the border yet in October everyone came across at will with no IDF soldiers anywhere for hours.

    Riddle me that Batman.

    That is the $64,000 question.

  2. 2 1/2 months to the convention, wondering who Trump picks for his VP.

Also wondering if Obama will stay with the Biden/Harris ticket or of he will decide to replace Kamala.

Peter, any updates re Trump VP?

This one is personal and it reflects on the sense of life of MAGA people.

I love Chanel Rion from OAN as a newscaster. I have ever since I saw her on OAN a few years ago. Unfortunately, I don't see her often since I no longer watch news on Cable TV.

But whenever a clip of her comes up, I watch it and often feel better for it. I saw one the other day on X and loved what Chanel said.

God knows I have tried to unite with evil, not in the sense of joining it, but in the sense of finding specific areas of common ground so we can find a higher ground with universal principles.

I can't say my tactics have been a total failure, but the successes have been a paltry few. Man have there been headaches, though. :)

That's the mind I was in when I saw Chanel's video.

So I posted a response to it.

Chanel then followed me on X.

This is the first famous person who has followed me on X solely based on what I posted. In essence, we are strangers, but I know for sure she and I share a lot of common ground.

So I felt proud she followed me. It felt like a salute.

Someday I intend to meet her.

Way to go and first of many!!!!!

Re the student Gaza protests and takeovers of the universities.

Back when there were sit-ins etc. against the Vietnam war, Ayn Rand had plenty to say. She ended up publishing a book of essays featuring it (The New Left: The Anti-Industrial Revolution, which was republished after her death under the title Return of the Primitive.)

I want to compare the modern Gaza protests with back then, but there is so much dumbassery today, it's hard to make the comparison.

    For instance, check this out.

The students who took over Hamilton Hall at Columbia University didn't worry about basic survival supplies. Now they are asking the public for food and guarantees they can send people out for food.

    :)

If I wanted to make this up, this scene would be a pretty good turning point in a comedy about dumbasses.

    :)

And, after seeing that, I don't think Ayn Rand--if she were alive today--would bother writing about it like she did back in the 60s.

At that level, who are those dumbasses going to threaten for real? What philosophical principles are they challenging? They all have plenty of money and can't even feed themselves. They forgot to plan for it while staging a pretend-violent takeover of a building.

    :)

Rubio? Maybe not. They are both living in the same state, so Marco doesn't bring the "extra" votes like someone from Ohio might. A women would matter . . .  and I believe there are two possible candidates in that group that might bring electoral and the women's vote. You know that "supposition" may be on the mark because you can type in "Possible Trump VP's" and their names will appear.

I agree on the female vp but Marco Rubio has slim to no chance and slim just left town.

    Flynn?

I think we have a situation where perhaps it is no so clear cut… the law is relatively clear but the facts to which the laws are applicable are not necessarily clear.

sometimes we can focus too much on purported facts… of which often we are not in full possession … and in today’s age are subject to much bias and twisting due to ideological and political forces… as well as pure corruption and lust for power.

Due process and the rule of law help to ensure actual facts, through evidentiary proceedings and careful weighing of facts lower court proceedings can provide… provide the basis for action in accordance with the proper application pf the law in the context … which is justice (assuming good law).

Declarations of emergency can come in multiple stripes… from various persons and on varying levels of factual basis… and clashes of powers can come in many forms and in various directions also stemming from different apprehension of the factual circumstances.

Here two governments are doing things and doing them for reasons (perhaps both factual and ideological) which conflict… whether in the form of asking for injunctions or declarations of emergency, there is risk here that one side is wrong and taking steps quickly without knowing which side it is before the facts are fully known is likely more risky than getting to the facts as quickly as reasonably possible to resolve the issue.

I am loath to criticize a decision which effectively says a proper court proceeding with evidence etc is required, because of the dangers of acting too swiftly… out of fear?  Again think of other possibilities … with the shoe on the other foot… declarations of emergency powers due to the next pandemic, cyber attack… threat of war… threat to democracy?… “climate crises”

There should be a sort of “emergency expedited court of first instance” process which would serve both the need for speed and the need for getting things right, but in a conflict of governments like this we need to get it right… even if it takes a little longer.

I hear what you are saying and I agree.

That being said, we all know that 2020 was stolen and that these same people have zero chance to win 2024 unless they pull some stunt, and this will be the first of many attempts.

What it shows me is that with 25 States onboard we are headed towards some sort of a civil war, then martial law, then no election or some rigged election.

These folks have two chances to win, slim and none, and slim just left town.

They will continue to try and hope that We The People will backdown and we will not.

Securing our border is the hill that we are willing to die for, but we will not as we will prevail and every other idiotic move they make on the way to November.

I say that we need our Canadian truckers at the Texas border with jumping castles, and the whole nine, supporting our beautiful President, President Trump.
