  1. http://www.worldsocialism.org/articles/assumption_and_ignorance.php This link is a better one...it helps to clear up the confusion over the alleged similarities between fascism and socialism, which exist in the minds of the ignorant.
  2. I'd agree too, if it weren't such a load of rubbish. Indians feeling sorry for themselves? Go down to a reservation and say that to them face to face. I have friends in AIM[American Indian Movement] and they, like Malcom X believe that victim hood never works. It is a different type of slavery. That "pity me" was rejected by Malcom and it worked. Adam You're a fan of Malcom X?
  3. ...was brought up yesterday in another thread. Because Obama is (snigger) turning American into Nazi Germany apparentely some of you here and elsewhere are working on a 2nd American revolution. Are you being serious or are you just trying to make me laugh?
  4. Welcome to OL Steven. Why is it lame? What do you do to support the state? Worker, student... Adam Hi Selene How do I support the state? Worker and how do you support it? Why is it lame? The content there was hiss-poor. Ever article was 3 times as long as it needed to be and I thought the Billy Bunter books were long-winded, but at least they were entertaining. Steven: Thanks for the qualification on the website. I had not visited the site. I try not to support the state. Unfortunately, I cannot avoid certain aspects of supporting the state, e.g., sales taxes. The concept of the "strike" has always been a valid scenario to me. I attended NBI in the 60's in NY City and have been politically active since I was about ten years old. Read Atlas at fourteen in 1960 and have never looked back. The philosophy has stood me in good stead throughout my life. Any errors I have made, and there have been some really good ones were from not following that path! What type of "worker" was the intention of my question. Do you live in Great Britain? Adam I do live in Great Britain...though I think they 'Great' was put there as a bit of a joke.
  5. "...an independent production" That's oppossed to a production put out by the American government? Oh well, as long as it remains faithfull to the book...who cares about how well directed, acted, written or how good the music, photography etc. is.
  6. We are currently working on precisely that effort. Oh sir...you really are too much! I don't suppose you can furnish me with a timeline for this revolution. BTW - don't revolutions only happen once? Unless you live(d) in the Eastern Bloc?
  7. Steven: So, essentially, you do not know and your assumption is unsupported by any facts. OK. It would have been interesting if you did some research on it before you made the charge. Adam Adam, http://www.guardian....heuk.travelnews Just for you! Wasn't hard...I just goggled it, this is one of many articles you'll find on the net. Hope that helps and yep, I do know and my assumption is not an assumption it's a fact! Steve Steve: I know it wasn't hard. I was concerned that you were just flippantly posting statements when it was so easy to substantiate. Thanks. Adam Oh my dear I'm sorry I gave you cause for concern. Now, shouldn't the bearded one be paying back the UK taxpayers instead of spending money on vanity projects?
  8. We shall find out in due course. The miners were never completely isolated. They had communications and life support the entire time. So that had a rational hope and expectation of rescue. I analogize the situation of the miners to people in the Antarctic during the South Polar night. During that period the weather is fierce and the people who are down their are pretty well confined to barracks. The main difference, of course, is that the people in the Antarctic are their voluntarily. There were not suddenly and against their will trapped in the six month long Arctic night. By the day after tomorrow the extraction should be complete, and hopefully without any serious snags. After which the blame and recrimination will start. It was Kants fault. But it was nice to see everyone well behaved even if for a limited time. Ba'al Chatzaf Well you've confused the hell out of me with your Antartic analogy...but nevermind. The good news is that they all got out alive.
  9. An oldie but goodie... Well...EXCUSE ME!!!!!!!! But I think we'll be the judge of that pal. Don't start reviewing your own articles. We'll tell you if it's any good or not.

  11. Congrats to the Chilean state for getting them out. I take my hat off to the Chilean government for this effort at releasing those trapped boys! I have been moved to tears watching those men come up and see their loved ones. I am wondering how their mental state is, how they have coped living in a hole for 68 days and how relationships, close ones with their comrades must have formed during that time trapped together.
  12. OMG...it's like living in Nazi Germany these days. What you need is a 2nd American Revolution.

  14. Oh, for heaven's sake. 14 posts and you've already stepped in one. Ah, well . . . I'll just wait for the movie . . . That Atlas Shrugged book is reel thik an it ain't got no pitchers innit. I readed the furst sentince an it was stoopid. rde It Will Be Alright I wouldn't hold out much hope for the movie...I mean have you forgotten Battlefield Earth? Why are the films never as good as the books? Awww, who is Jonnie Goodboy Tyler?
  15. Round 'em up, put 'em in a field and bomb the b******s?
  16. Who is the bearded one? Ba'al Chatzaf Branson at the Time 100 Gala, 4 May 2010. Must be this dude ^^^^ their CEO That's him...and his trains are rubbish and rarely on time.
  17. I love you Rich. Are you excited about space tourism too? Whatever gets me out of the trailer park. Any price. Read Atlas Shrugged. Worked for me.

  19. Thanks Bill, as ever you made me laugh. SOLO passion is hilarious, it's the gift that just keeps on giving. Pygmies masquerading as giants? You got it!
  20. Over in the UK gays are allowed to marry...shock, horror eh? Civilization as we know it did not collapse. Allowing gays to marry is a dangerous game? Dude, what are you smoking?
  21. Ask the bearded one...but the company receives government subsidies in one area, which may cross over to another.
  22. Thank you Barbara. I fully agree. Both of my siblings are gay and in long-term loving relationships. My sister and her partner are both grandparents now and so the little ones have an extra grandma to spoil them rotten. I can't possibly see how the existence of gay marriage would be an attack on the culture. I certainly don't feel threatened by it and I believe same sex couples should have the same legal rights as opposite sex couples. Kat Perhaps the OP saw a homosexual once when he was younger and it frightened him.
  23. From you welfare cheques? The amount Virgin gets from the UK tax payers they owe me a free flight.
