  1. Chris,

If Rand had commented on Kant, Hume and Hegel, I assume these comments would have been included.

As you say, one doesn't get the impression that Rand was well read. In fact, I think it is evident that she wasn't.

Neil; I think she read some things but not others at different times in her life.

Maybe it was hard for her to multi-task.

  2. Chris,

The incompetence of the PGC Police, the arrogance of their chief (refusing to apologize and reluctantly clearing the Mayor and his wife's name)makes my blood boil. I've written several letters to the department expressing my outrage but have not yet received a response. Unbelievable!

    Mick

Mick; I am not surprised at your not getting any reply. Chris

Yesterday another shooting by a Prince George's policeman this time ending in the death of an Hispanic male. The Hispanic male is supposed to have tried to grab either the officer's night stick or his gun. Probably the crime was being drunk while brown.

  3. Chris,

Why do you want Senator Edwards to submit to a DNA test regarding the parentage of the child? What difference does it make? Whatever the result, he's a lying sack of shit scum-bag. I could care less who he fucks or whether he may or may not have fathered a child with some bimbo not his wife.

    Mick

Mick; I want John Edwards to pay child support if he is the father. Chris

  4. Chris Grieb: "I have mention that with the news there is a group who is more upset than others. That is the right wing mailers. With Teddy being gone who can they warn as their menace. For left-wing mailer had the same feeling when Jesse Helms left the Senate."

I don't know, I suppose W is far more of a lightening rod than the racist and homophobic Jesse Helms. As for Senator Kennedy, I have lost loved ones to cancer; my heart grieves for him and for those who care about him. I know most on this board don't share Kennedy's politics, but as for me, I wouldn't wish cancer on my worst enemy.

Shame on you Mr. Grieb for your thoughtless and mean spirited post.

And don't worry folks, this is the end.

    Mick

Mr. Russell; Where was I thoughtless and mean spirited. I think if you ask other people on this forum if I am thoughtless and mean spirited on any issue. I of course do not cancer on anyone. I had good things to say about Sen Kennedy. Really Mr. Russell!
  5. For the first time in many years I missed them.

I am pleased about the Best Actress award. Edith Piaf was a very interesting person and had a real life. That is one movie I want to see.

Daniel Day-Lewis part is from an Upton Sinclair novel. It wasn't very good when it was new and the story has not gotten better.

  6. Chris,

I debated this with my wife tonight. He had a child. How do you define coward? I define it , "Heath...whatever his name is."

Jody; I haven't seen the latest information on Heath's case. For that reason I am not going to condemn him and stand by my statement that the story is sad.

The last line of Brokeback Mountain is "Jack I swear".

The Heath Ledger story is still sad whatever he died of.

Watching Brokeback again less than an hour ago I was reminded what a wonderful performance Heath's was.
