That was a great scene. Remember that line, something like "You two ought to be married" - spoken to the Sally Field and Paul Newman characters, re their arguing?
Bill P
There are many moments in that scene and that was one of them.

Thanks Ghs for the link. I looked at it but did closely read but my somewhat low opinion of Rothbard was reinforced.

After witnessing Patrick Kennedy's rant about the coverage of some resolution in the House his retirement from politics is not a moment too soon. He needs to be someplace where he is kept from sharp pointed objects.

Several people wrote into Fox News noting Paul Ryan's appearance on their weekend program.

Josh Charles continues to do a very good job on The Good Wife. The Good Wife is the best show on the new season.
-
Peter; I was not happy with the ending either.

I have to note that Ted's autobiography is selling very well on Amazon. We will probably have to listen if there is a signing for ObamaCare listen to President telling how sad it is that Ted is not here.
-
Gatsby; No I haven't. I have been watching all the old episodes. I had forgotten how good the first season was.
I highly recommend In-Demand if you don't have it. It is a great way to see shows you might miss. -
Jerry; Try info@haywirerecording.com Attn: Rob Bartlesby. Rob was very helpful to me.

Five of the Jena Six plead guilty today and paid a fine. They also apologized to the town of Jena for the turmoil they caused. I am not holding my breathe for Al Sharpton's apology.

I watched him on Book TV's IN Depth: http://www.c-spanarchives.org/library/inde...cts_id=195600-1
It was eminently watchable and I recommend it.
Ted; You are very correct.

I love reading O'Rourke's stuff, but I can't stand listening to him talk, at least not when he's speaking extemporaneously. I caught a little bit of his appearance last night on the Laura Ingraham show and had to shut it off due to the annoying staccato "uh-uh-uh-uh-aw-aw-aw-aw-aw"-ing that O'Rourke uses to fill space while selecting the words that he might use in a sentence: "I think that Obama is not to be uh-uh-uh-uh-aw-aw-aw-aw-aw trusted, a-a-a-a-a-a-a-and I think he's uh-uh-uh-uh-aw-aw-aw-aw-aw less than uh-uh-uh-uh-aw-aw-aw-aw-aw honest." It almost makes him sound more haughty and phony than Bill Buckley.
He had a prepared text at Cato. He did alright during the Q&A. He prehaps does not due well speaking off the cuff.

There is a report that all the members of Jena Six have been arrested for other crimes.

I have heard that Capote had to leave the execution chamber before Smith was executed. That was the Robert Blake character. Capote remained friends with Alvin Dewey after the book came out. In the Feb 66 Objectivist Barbara Branden had a very harsh review of In Cold Blood.

There is a fine article in todays Wall Street Journal(March 18).

Chris, this is the best show I ever watched on the telly. Let me warn you, it doesn't get any less depressing.
Michael; I know! I started with the fourth season.
Good News! On Demand just put Season 2 on.

Those are really great quotes. Thanks!

I noted today that I have not seen any of the Oscar winners for the past three years in a movie theater. I saw No Country for Old Men on TV.

Psyche and the Mentalist are both shows that have detectives who are very good observers. People watching them think they have esp. Of the two show I like The Mentalist more. Simon Baker projects a wonderful benevolence.
Psyche while it has the wonderful Dule Hill as Gus. The lead James Rodale just comes across as brash.
I must it is nice to see TV shows that debunk esp rather than giving the character super powers.
I haven't seen The Mentalist, but I'll look for it now. I really enjoy Psych, and don't find the character of Shawn to be too brash. I love his (and Gus's) quick 80s pop culture references. It's also kind of fun to watch the show and then catch either an old episode of The West Wing, in which Dulé Hill practically looks like a baby in the role of Charlie, or a recent episode of Mad Men, in which Elisabeth "Zoey Bartlet" Moss is all grown up and not the sweet and innocent president's daughter that Charlie dated. :-)
J
Jonathan; Thanks for the reply. I like Mad Men and did not realize that Elizabeth Moss had been on West Wing. The West Wing was a very well written and acted show.
Do try and watch The Mentalist. -
It was good this year and I didn't need to use my mute. They got a great group of male country singers for the tribute to George Jones.
Laura Bush has great legs. The Tharp tribute was well done with dancing done Frank Sinatra's songs.Members of the NYC Fire and Police Departments joined in the tribute to the Who. The first concert after 9-11 was done by the Who.It's always a good show and this one stayed up to the standard.

I have to add that I will miss all people I have come to know over the many years I have attended.

On the Reason Magazine there is a great link at Solon to a discussion of the Obama citizenship controversy. After reading it I have not change my mind.

I watched a very good review of the original case on InDemand recently.
I would not want Marsha Clark serving as my defense consul even in a parking ticket.
