Guyau
Well, Chris, the good news is that you have reached 50 years and you have accomplished a lot. The bad news is that by the time he was your age, that productive fellow Mozart had already been dead for 15 years.Seriously, congratulations and keep young.–Stephen

Roger Bissell
It was great fun yesterday to send both telephone greetings and a gift through the U.S. Mail, not only to Chris who turned 50, but to my son Daniel who turned 27. Interesting coincidence: Chris's sister Elizabeth shares the same month & date for her birthday as my daughter Rebecca. Sadly (for those who like really spooky coincidences), my son Andrew does NOT have the same month & date for his birthday as Chris's brother, Carl. :-)REB
DavidMcK
In a party with 23 people attending there will be a %50 chance that someone will share a birthday. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Birthday_problem
Chris Grieb
Marsha Enright on Facebook has indicated that Chris Scabariaa has taken a turn for the worse. I was wondering if Robert Campbell could provide any more information.
Robert Campbell
Chris G,The short version is that Chris Sciabarra's health has been worsening gradually for several years. And since the beginning of 2009, it's been bad enough to really slow him down. The message from Marsha Enright on Facebook can be seen here:http://www.facebook....60442528&ref=ssRobert C

Robert Campbell
Chris G,I haven't heard of any change in Chris's condition. He sent a thank you message around to the folks who contributed after Marsha Enright made the appeal on Facebook. I haven't heard from him since then.During the now concluded hullabaloo over the Mayhew collection of essays at amazon I know that a couple of the participants emailed him, but I don't think he replied to any of the emails.Robert C

Makes me wish prayer worked.I guess no news is good news but how are things going with Chris S.Chris G., I have heard nothing for Chris for perhaps 2-3 weeks now. The last conversation I had with him was after the first of four surgeries he is scheduled to have, and he was feel ~very~ miserable (if that's not an understatement). I believe he has had his second surgery, but I don't know how he came through that. I ~did~ receive my copies of the latest JARS in the mail last week, and I believe he is the one doing the mailouts, so he must be functioning on ~some~ level. I'll let you and the other OL folks know what I hear when I next speak to him.Best,REB
