Making Alice in Wonderland Illegal

I have a number of old kids books (not only Alice in Wonderland) in my closet--never given away to younger cousins, never sold, mostly kept by my mother as momentos. But apparently I'm in danger of violating the law

It’s hard to believe, but true: under a law Congress passed last year aimed at regulating hazards in children’s products, the federal government has now advised that children’s books published before 1985 should not be considered safe and may in many cases be unlawful to sell or distribute. Merchants, thrift stores, and booksellers may be at risk if they sell older volumes, or even give them away, without first subjecting them to testing—at prohibitive expense. Many used-book sellers, consignment stores, Goodwill outlets, and the like have accordingly begun to refuse new donations of pre-1985 volumes, yank existing ones off their shelves, and in some cases discard them en masse.

The full article has further details, including the possible effect on public libraries, which of course have loads of such books.

So Jeffrey...

when can I have one of my certified, pre 1985 book collector operatives remove these toxic volumes to save you from yourself?

We have a 24 hour service and it will cost you nothing.

Ah, yes. Nothing like a good ol'-fashioned book-burning BBQ to warm the hearts and souls against the onset of the socialist winter...

Shane:

With this little routine about the website going virtually unnoticed by the "main stream media" I am becoming viscerally concerned for my country.
