I have no doubt that Obama's flagrant power grabbing, "I won. I trump that," is helping our cause. Even those who voted for him are opposed to the "bailout." It is revealing how Pelosi and Obama ignore their constituents who call to oppose their bills in overwhelming numbers.

Admittedly 101754 is a small number compared to the number needed to change our course. But it is comforting to know that the Campaign For Liberty does exist and is alive and well and growing. So 102K on Feb 1 and 103K on Feb 10th thus ten days to add 1000 new members or torch bearers. There do not appear to be any lapses or lasting plateaus but an ongoing stream of increases in numbers every hour of the day and night which promises to continue and to accelerate over time. I know this is not as rapidly as one might wish. At this rate it would take an entire year to add just under 40K.

I would hope that everyone involved would keep spreading the word to let people know that our movement exists and is growing. I hand out business cards with the CFL logo and mission statement on one side with the website. I wish they also had a few other websites where people could find the thoughts of Ayn Rand and the Austrian economists.

We are involved in a race against time afterall in our ideological struggle and it is imperative that our ideas are voiced in the marketplace, academia and not just in campaigns for political office.

Just to remind you that while you have been going about your business so have we. Included in our busy lives is the motivation to inform the people we meet that the Campaign For Liberty exists and is devoted to enlightening our fellow countrymen of the details which Obama leaves out of his speeches.

Did you notice that he said there is no need to look back to find out how we got here, then did go only so far back to blame the bankers who enticed people who could not meet ordinary criteria to take out loans.

What he failed to mention, no doubt intentionally, was that the govt played a crucial role in causing the bankers to do so! A law entitled the Community Reinvestment Act of 1977 virtually held a gun to the heads of the bankers and compelled them to give out loans to those in so called redline districts.

Obama must realize that some of us are aware of his duplicity and deceitfulness. He demonstrates the audacity and hubris characteristic of the self righteous and the power luster.

It remains to be seen how large our movement grows. At present membership stands at 104700 on 25Feb09 and she grows by another 1000 every week or so. I expect that when we have candidates for Congress in virtually every state who open the eyes of those who are enduring the agony of disillusionment that our membership will increase exponentially.

Your comment makes me wonder what you would have been saying during the early days prior to the Declaration of Independence.

Those brave souls had the courage of their convictions and stood up to the strongest military machine in the world at the time and did indeed risk their lives, their liberty and their wealth and property.

I think most of us who are feeling the weight of the heel of the State on our backs realize the futility of taking up arms. Rather while we have the freedom to speak and write and stand for office that is the course we are taking.

But there is a mocking tone in your comments.

We are approaching a crossroads and we have just witnessed a populace who fell under the spell of a man who presented himself as a saviour. He lulled them into submission but just as Hitler cashed in on the prevalence of an ideology which can be traced back to Plato which was illustrated by Leonard Peikoff in The Ominous Parallels, so Obama cashed in on a culture in which people grow up immersed in mysticism, indoctrinated with the morality of Altruism, nurtured not to have independent critical thought, but rather to uncritically accept on faith the falsehoods promised by an authoritarian seemingly benevolent unthreatening composed and unflappable charlatan who offers a nebulous vision of hope and change lacking any substance nor any evidence nor understanding.

Given that between their parents, their churches, the media, think American Idol, and their public schools the voting public has been rendered unthinking, gullible, credulous, unquestioning, conformist, willing to follow any leader who professes to know what direction to lead them this election was no surprise.

The question is whether there are enough people in this society who remain willing to listen to reason now or even after it becomes evident that the policies of the likes of Obama, Bernanke, Paulson, Geitner, Pelosi, Barney Frank and their ilk have only made things worse.
