BaalChatzaf
What we really need to improve the political scene in this country is not a crypto-radical like Obama, but a real visionary with courage to change things. I give you as an example, Junichiroh Koizuma, former prime minister of Japan whose magnam opus was the privatization of the Japanese Post Office. Unlike our P.O. which mis-delivers the mail, the Japanese P.O. is the main institution for savings (the Japanese are the greatest money savers in the world). In 2005, the J.P.O. had over a trillion dollars in saved funds. When it was under government control, it was used as a slush fund for Japanese politicians to fund projects that would ingratiate them with the voters. Junichiroh Koizuma fought for and finally one privatization of the vast fund of capital for investment in genuine business opportunities. Once he achieved his goals he stepped down and resigned from politics. How about that? You have just gotta love it. Think of an American politician that can privatize Social Security and you would have an apt comparison. And after he succeeds he retires because he can never do any better than that. Would that not be amazing? An article on this remarkable man can be found in Wikipedia.Ba'al Chatzaf

studiodekadent
I'd say Vaclav Klaus, the President of the Czech Republic. A classical liberal economist who loves Hayek and Mises AND an Anthropogenic Global Warming denier!
