Chris Grieb
A few quick notes on the election.Obama is first Democrat since Jimmy Carter to get a majority of popular vote. The Democrats made most of the gains in the US Senate that were predicted for them in the pre-election polls. They can not reach sixty. In the US House the Democrats ran well in Democratic states where Republicans were very much the exception. Case in point Chris Shays lost. There is no Republican from New England in the US House.Final point when the election is the situation where one candidate in order to win has to win everything that is in play. That candidate usually doesn't. Cases in point Dukias in 88, George H W Bush in 92, and McCain in 2008
Chris Grieb
Another point Bob Barr does not seem to have done any better that other Libertarian candidates. On the LP web site there are only a couple of states posted and those results are well below the figures to enable Barr to reach a million votes. Also there are only couple of states actually with figures which suggests that the LP does not have the competency to even find out what the total were for Barr.I have discovered that Fox News has results for Barr. Fox shows him receiving less than 500,000.I beginning to think that a better use for one's money would be standing on a street corner reading from Atlas Shrugged than putting money into Libertarian Presidential campaigns. The above comments stands. Edited November 5, 2008 by Chris Grieb
