KFC lawsuit

I don't know how many noticed the lawsuit being brought against KFC over their cooking oil containing tran fat, and the attempt at forcing yet another company into doing what somebody considers serving the public good, whatever that is, but what really jumped out at me in the article- other than it being another example of frivolous lawsuits which bog this country down and eventually cost the consumer more money- is the name of the organization the doctor bringing the lawsuit is affiliated with. It is called 'The Center for Science in the Public Interest'.

Here is a link to the article.

I would probably never have really paid much heed to a name such as that unless I had read Rand's fiction, but since having read "The Fountainhead", and finishing up "Atlas Shrugged" these types of names sort of leap off the page at you when you read them in conjunction with people or groups who are trying to force businesses into a socialist framework.

Trans fats?

I thought this was going to be about some PETAhead wanting KFC to follow the Whole Foods Market lobster example and stop selling chicken.

Public good?

Hey, I'm pouring butter on every lobster tail I find and eating as many Buffalo wings as I can so poor children in third world countries do not have to suffer through it themselves! Just doing my duty as a carnivore in a first world country.

And doctors are concerned? Hmm?

I should think veternarians would be the ones outraged. I mean putting chickens into all that trans fat has to be bad for them!

Well, now I've gone and made myself hungry. Hey, Walmart sells chickens & lobsters and......Deep fryers!!!! Mmmmmmmmm!

I wonder which wine I should serve with trans fatty oil? Oh, it doesn't matter anyway -

As long as I'm doing it for the children!

The food police are at it again. This frivolous lawsuit is just a publicity stunt to get their agenda and scare tactics into the news. I've heard of this group before. Instead of trusting people to look at the nutrition facts available for KFC and be conscientious consumers, they file frivolous lawsuits and and try to scare people (and companies) into submission. Duh. People know that deep fried fast food isn't meant to be nutritious.

This organization promotes what they think is in the public interest as if people had no brains at all. Next thing you know they will call for a complete boycott of all establishments that serve meat or refuse to deep fry their french fries in extra pure grade extra virgin virgin virgin olive oil. They should throw their support to places that agree with them rather than try to destroy those who refuse to let them dictate how a company should operate. Better yet, they should try operating their own restaurants. Talk is cheap. Show don't tell.

More politically correct bullshit.
