Hudgins to Speak at Junto Meeting May 1 in NYC

On Thursday, May 1st Dr. Edward Hudgins, executive director of The Atlas Society, will speak at the Junto meeting in New York City on the topic "Measuring Economic Freedom: How to Do It and What It Tells Us."

This free event will be held at the General Society Library at 20 West 44th St., New York, New York. The site is located between 5th & 6th Avenues, near Grand Central Terminal.

The doors open at 7:00pm with the organized part of the meeting starting at around 7:30pm. Hudgins will begin at around 8:00pm with a short presentation followed by plenty of time for Q&A. The meeting wraps up by 10:00pm.

Hudgins will argue that one of the great economic innovations in recent years has been the development of two indices to measure economic freedom around the world, one by Heritage Foundation and the other, in the United States, by the Cato Institute. Hudgins was involved in the development of both indices. The systematic approach of these indices allows us to rigorously advocate capitalism. These indices also point to measures of the ethical infrastructure of free markets, including the Objectivist morality, on which is should be based.

If you are in the New York City area, join us for an intellectually stimulating evening! For further information see the Junto website at http://www.nycjunto.com.
