This rises out of their ten year (or so) love affair with the government - which now wears thinner with every day. Our current Foreign Secretary, Margaret Beckett, is still remembered by many for her mishandling of the Foot and Mouth Crisis in 2001 and MPs are (even today) pointing the finger at her for more poor treatment of our farmers over another matter. Little wonder then that the Foreign Office, under her (and ultimately Blair's) tutelage, knows exactly where it is going on this one.and now we have, with customary Iranian subtlety, a captured sailor speaking from a script. Follow today's latest. Imagine the delight and amazement in Teheran when they discovered that one of the "imprisoned" was a woman! Jackpot.
