Kat
BBCode tagsThe following are the most common BBCode tags available to most modern message boards. BBCode is text code used for formatting in message boards such as OL. It is basically formatting instructions enclosed in brackets. BBCode is very similar to html. The tags are used in pairs. The first tag tells the program to start formatting the text and in the second tag a slash is used before the code to tell it to stop formatting the text that way. Here are some examples:bolded text[b]bolded text[/b] italicized text [i]italicized text[/i] underlined text[u]underlined text[/u] [img=http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c242/objectivistliving/4412963279_Cat20holds20gun.jpg] Here is the image:Wikipedia text link [url=http://wikipedia.org]Wikipedia text link[/url] Quote box[quote]quoted text[/quote] quoted textRed Text[color=red]Red Text[/color] or [color=#FF0000]Red Text[/color](Can use many different color names or hex codes.) Kat
FORMAT alertIf you copy text from one place and paste it into a post, all of the formatting gets stripped off (italics, bold, etc.) and you have to go through the post and replace it before hitting the SUBMIT button. Otherwise it will go up without any of the original text formats. You can fix the formatting by inserting opening and closing formatting tags around the text, e.g., lowercase b within brackets before the text to be bolded and slash-b within brackets to stop bolding the text. Same type of thing with lower case i in brackets to start italicizing and lower case i preceeded by a slash to stop. Remember to use these formatting tags in pairs like you would quotation marks. Highlighting the text and clicking the formatting icon inserts the tags before and after the text automatically.Michael & Kat
