John Dailey
~ Not sure where else to put this, but, @ 2pm I go out and wait for Jonnie's bus to arrive from school. I sit in the car (it's cold here in CT) and listen to the radio while waiting. My wife has turned into a Rush Limbaugh fan a-n-d there he is on the station set (normally I listen to 'oldies-but-goodies'). He's complaining (as usual) about the latest Democrat-cum-'liberals' foibles, then SWITCHES (no relevent 'segue') to talking about Rand and AS and summarizes AS as "achievers sick of being the 1% 'carrying' the other 99% and then say 'Screw It.' " He generalizes the story, but, I'd say accurately.~ I've heard/read (surprisingly) that he's hyped AS before, but, my point is, this was so random that *I*'d have caught such (I'm not a regular listener), I'm wondering how representative such references are becoming, and, if more so, maybe because of the hyped movie?LLAPJ:D
jordanz
The other day on CNBC, I heard anchor Rick Santelli say "Someone should send Ayn Rand's Atlas Shrugged..." in reference to Hugo Chavez.
Chris Grieb
Ayn Rand and Atlas Shrugged are cultural icons. Lots of people have read her and they like her. Unlike like some writers people have actually read Rand. More people are going to read her and they will talk about her. Enjoy it. I just sorry I wouldn't be here for Atlas's 100th birthday.
