Brant Gaede
How to deal with Iraq.1) Get rid of the government, police and armed forces.2) Set up three autonomous regions: Kurd, Shiite, Sunni.3) Withdraw two-thirds of American/allied forces from day-to-day operations as presently constituted.4) Make the national government an allied (read US) responsibility.5) Keep the Sunnis in line by threatening to let the Kurds mostly benefit from Iraqi oil.6) Mass US forces on the Iranian border.7) Let the Sunnis and Shiites set up respective governments then keep them in line with threats, implicit and explicit as necessary. The US can intimidate governments, not free-ranging terrorists.8) Etc.--Brant Edited November 18, 2006 by Brant Gaede
Michael Stuart Kelly
Brant,Actually, that's not a bad idea.
