I have been watching college hockey, the World Juniors (USA won the gold medal), and the AHL, but it just hasn't been the same without NHL hockey. Can't wait for them to get started. GO WINGS GO! Oh the bitter words I did not write, because what was the use. I have said for years that the league is too big and the season is too long but this solution was just too drastic. Here in Leafs Nation it is back to lose-lose as usual. The new team owners decided to fire the GM months ago, they say, but did not get around toactually doing it until two days ago. The word amongst local sportswreiters , with 99% of whom Burke the Jerk was at deadly feud, is that it was insanity to fire a four-year coach just when he is undefeated in January.At least in Detroit you can hold your heads up . No news, they always beat us, but at least this time it was only 1-0 and the 0 is arguable, if you want to argue with the refs, good luck.the Leafs are a good representation of our city; a couple Ontarians, including a homeboy Muslim. a German, a couple Scands.. some Yanks, an African-Canadian, a Franco-Albertan captain, and 1/2 a goaltender. Kessel has finally scored, a game winner, Kadri is winning the faceoffs not that he does anything with them but you can't have everything, In a sloppy season, this is as good as it gets.if you are of Leafs Nation you will put up with anything as we have proven - thanks for the dividend!
