Ben Swann video how the RNC hoodwinked the Ron Paul supporters.

Ron Paul did have the required five state plurality to assure that he could be nominated by the floor of the RNC convention according to the RNC rules.

But the RNC wanted the appearance that Romney had 100 percent support although he didn't, lacking the 20 percent held by the Ron Paul delegates in five states, Nevada, Iowa, Virginia, Louisiana and Maine.

Romney attorneys figured out that the Maine convention was such a mess because of violations of their own rules and missteps by those in the GOP who were in charge that the whole outcome should be disqualified.

That was resorted to after an attempt to change the rules of the RNC to raise the requirement from a five state plurality to ten states. Fortunately one Republican on the rules committee had the integrity to believe that changing the rules because Ron Paul met the existing requirement just to keep him from being nominated from the floor and heard in a speech at the convention was not reason enough to change the rule so the vote failed by the one vote.

You will not find this issue presented in the main stream media but Ben Swann has followed it and reports on the video below.

Die hard Ron Paul supporters feel cheated by the RNC and by those in the campaign who succumbed to offers by the RNC to place things in the platform such as the audit of the Fed which they do not expect that Romney will honor or exercise.

A Ron Paul supporter at the convention overheard two Romney delegates talking about their distress about how Ron Paul was being treated and how disturbed they were by the behavior of the RNC. They talked with him about Ron Paul and decided to change their allegiance to Ron Paul.

If that change of heart and mind continues Ron Paul still might get the nomination.

When the RNC announced that the roll call would be postponed from Monday to Tuesday because of the tropical storm which might become a hurricane in Tampa on Monday, Ron Paul supporters considered the possibility that this might be a ploy.

The Ron Paul delegates are alerted to the possibility that the RNC still intends to have the roll call on Monday hoping that the postponement announcement will keep the Ron Paul delegates from attending!

"Mr. Paul, in an interview, said convention planners had offered him an opportunity to speak under two conditions: that he deliver remarks vetted by the Romney campaign, and that he give a full-fledged endorsement of Mr. Romney. He declined.

“It wouldn’t be my speech,” Mr. Paul said. “That would undo everything I’ve done in the last 30 years. I don’t fully endorse him for president.”
