Ron Paul surrenders.,,

Apparently the new apocalyptic politik is to clear the field. Take no prisoners.

Ron Paul, well known as a physician, congressman and libertarian , has also been a businessman who pursued a marketing strategy that included publishing provocative, racially charged newsletters to make money and spread his ideas, said three people with direct knowledge of Paul’s businesses.

But people close to Paul’s operations said he was deeply involved in the company that produced the newsletters, Ron Paul & Associates, and closely monitored its operations, signing off on articles and speaking to staff members virtually every day.

“It was his newsletter, and it was under his name, so he always got to see the final product. . . . He would proof it,’’ said Renae Hathway, a former secretary in Paul’s company and a supporter of the Texas congressman’s.

But Adam, defend him from what? We've talked about the newsletters before - I said they would torpedo him.

Carol:

1) His plausible denyability that he did not sign off on the newsletters;

2) His cute little curmudgeon facade that he did not know how much money they made;

3) His statement in the last debate about not releasing his tax returns because he would be embarrassed by how little they would show compared to the others. and

4) His Holy Grail crusade that is above the fray would come crashing to earth if he was intimately involved with the newsletters AND personally signed off on each one.

Granted, you may have perceived this all along, but his true believers did not and they are the shock troops of his campaign.

Adam
