studiodekadent
A great piece!Ahh well, hopes they'd all be so disappointed by the lack of the Rapture they'd commit mass suicide were always too hopeful.
sbeaulieu
Apparently, Harold Camping was shocked that the Rapture did not come to pass. I feared they would latch on to the small earthquake that kicked off in California, but no injuries or damage - Rapture averted. What surprised me most was they didn't grandstand their position with the volcano in Iceland, or the tornado that devastated Joplin, MO.I'm hoping many of their numbers question Mr. Camping and their faith. Sometimes, it takes a major kick in the face to set people straight. Let's hope this one came from a size 21.~ Shane

Selene
OK So, let me get this straight...he admits he is not a genius...got that;he says that the end of the world is basically like a mortgage and this was a down payment...got that;so, all we need to do is declare spiritual bankruptcy and the end of the world will be eternally enjoined...works for me, but watch out for those heavenly bankruptcy trustees and judges! PDS
Is it possible that May 21 was a very "soft" rapture: i.e., only a few went to the clouds and nobody really knows about it yet? Unfortunately, this would mean that our man Mr. Camping was not among the elect. As John Calvin might say, "no surprise there."
Xray
Is it possible that May 21 was a very "soft" rapture: i.e., only a few went to the clouds and nobody really knows about it yet? Oh, how thrilling - I love mysteries! Maybe it was a bit like only a handpicked elite vanishing into Galt's Gulch? ;)Unfortunately, this would mean that our man Mr. Camping was not among the elect. No happy camper existence "up there" for poor Mr. Camping it seems. Edited May 24, 2011 by Xray
