  • Description
I am the kind of person that people hate at first, but learn to appriciate over time. I am blunt. I am real. I always try to do the right thing, for people that are deserving and will truly appriciate what I do for them. I graduated one year early, by skipping the 8th grade, due to my comprehension. Sometimes I feel that I think too much and speak too little.

  1. Thank you for the welcome. And to be honest, my grandfather passed away when I was only 5 or 6 years old, so I am merely going off of what I have heard... But, I can say this, he was very passionate about what Ayn, and Nathaniel wrote and produced, he was just interested in the different ways of thinking, and how intersting and complex their philosophy was compared to the next person. My grandmother remembers back when they lived on Long Island, and she would take the train to take parenting classes at the Empire State Building, and how one time Ayn came out on stage while Nathaniel was standing on stage already, and she had a whip in her hand. I dont exactly know what the lesson was there, but they obviously had a sense of humor. My grandfather attneded college in ISU, Indiana State University, back in the late 1940's, and that is when we belive that he became interested in Ayn Rand, and Nathaniel. We assume he studdied business because in 1962 or 63 he started working for Best Lock's, and worked their for the rest of his life. My father never got into listening to the records, but he listened to his father, and the things he said, and it was nothing but strong passionate topics, and my father tells me, that I my self have a bit of philosophical thoughts and feelings towards certain topics. My grandfather loved to read, he was a pianist and was beautiful at playing. He was a teacher back in his earlier days and tought Mathmatics, and believe it or not, he was a pilot, and flight instructor. But in all honesty, he read Ayn Rands books, and thats how he became interested in her philosophy, and later on, Nathaniel's and Barbara's. Thank you for your interest Aaron. Aaron: Thank you for your insight into your grandfather and grandmother. Is your father, hopefully still alive? What town on Long Island [120 miles long!!] did they live? Have you read any of Ayn's fiction/non-fiction? A... Post Script: Pleasure to meet you. What do you do for a living? You are very welcome, and yes my father is still alive, he is 55, and grew up in Suffolk County, in a small town called West Sayville. His father did not want to raise a family in a city, and worked in the city, and drove 100 miles each day round trip. I am only 17 years old, and was born and raised in Saint Petersburg, Florida. And I have never even heard of Ayn or Nathaniel untill a couple of months ago. So to answer your question, no, I have not read or listened to either of their works, just imformation I am learning each day from my father and the internet. Currently...my father and I are going thrrough foreclosure, and are being evicted on October 7th, unless a miracle happens, and somehow the things were attempting to do, to help our selves stay in our grandfathers home, and now our home as of the time he passed away. Because neither of us want to lose our home. And my fathers been going through a lot, and not truly facing his fears and reality, and now they are apparent, so he is being forced to take action. I can honestly say that he has changed dramatically in the past few months, considering he nearly died due to an adnormally high blood sugar level...so it's already a miracle that he is alive, and myself and a few family members continue to tell him, "There is damn good reason why you are still alive." But this is merely a sample of my life and the story I carry with me. - A.G.W.
