  1. Heh.... 12:30 AM, long day, missed the sarcasm. "Ladies and gentlemen, please fasten your seatbelts... the jokes will be flying 35,000 feet above your head."
  2. Excuse me, but why did you stop your essay in the middle? --Brant Because I didn't want to spend 3 hours listing all the possible points.
  3. When the Palestinians stop using sneak rocket attacks to blow up Israeli kids, then they may have the right to complain about their living conditions. Stop acting like animals, and we'll talk. When the Palestinians take a good look at the actions of their Arab neighbors, particularly Egypt, whose jingoism (especially in 1967) is partially responsible for the current situation, then they may have the right to appeal to the global political scene. Stop endlessly excusing Arab aggression, and we'll talk. When the Palestinians voluntarily stop accepting the 13 TONS of food that Israel gives them FOR FREE, every WEEK, then they may complain. Don't bite the hand that feeds you. When the Palestinians realize that Israel giving Arabs citizenship and voting rights - whereas a Jew in any Arab country could never even dream of it - is one HELL of a human-rights concession, then maybe they will have the right to complain about unequal treatment. When Turkey & Co. stops sending ships loaded with screaming maniacs wielding machetes and sharpened rebar, and calls this travesty a "humanitarian aid mission" - then the issue can be discussed seriously. When Reuters decides NOT to edit out the video footage of an IDF soldier who was gutted and thrown overboard, and who had to swim to his ship literally holding his guts in with one hand - then the worldwide media can be trusted to report the situation at least somewhat credibly. When... oh hell, there are about 10,000 other examples. Israel deals with hundreds of terror attacks each year - and you never hear about it. Israel gives food, medication, and construction supplies to Gaza - and you never hear about it. Israeli kids in areas adjoining Gaza have night terrors lasting well into adulthood because of the random night-time rocket attacks - and you never hear about it. IDF soldiers are trained to ignore rocks, bricks, and other projectiles thrown at them, and do not shoot back - and you never hear about it. IDF airstrikes are tightly targeted, and civilians are warned in advance to get out of the area - yet any casualties are still presented as proof of wanton Israeli aggression. Israel constantly comes up with inventions that enrich the world's technological and sociological arenas - yet they never get the credit. But the moment that a Palestinian issues a cry for sympathy, half the world is in a rush to coddle them. Amazing. Objective assessment of the situation? Who needs it. Pity and need, that's what rules the day. Wesley Mouch would be so proud.
  4. Not to get off-track here, but excellent point! Yes, it's very Roarkian in its form-follows-function aspect, with a touch of the Vegas architectural extremism thrown in. Hmm... perhaps Vegas is one of the few places where an architect's vision can really run wild.
  5. I think he should resign, for the following reasons. 1.) He has already demonstrated mental instability, or at least a serious lack of discretion, when he sent that "tiger-suit" photo. 2.) The issue of the "unwanted sexual encounter" (Whoopi Goldberg in the background: "but it wasn't rape-rape") has come up before, but people discounted it since the way his election opponent brought it up was "too harsh"... or something. 3.) The same issue has been brought up again, this time with what looks like a serious legal challenge in the works. He might want to resign first, and deal with the court / civil lawsuit later. 4.) It would be a breath of fresh air for a Democrat caught in a scandal to actually resign, instead of holding onto the reins of power with white-knuckled grip (Rangel, Cuomo, Weiner, Clinton, it's a long list).
