  1. Since this thread has already been ruined, I request that one of the moderators close it. I am going to re-post my original and start over. If "pippi" posts there, I will start another thread.
  2. Do people have some type of powers here? I'm especially asking Xray this question. It seems that Xray saw the murder take place with his/her own eyes, or at least believes it. Here is a very interesting documentary which argues that Jason Simpson (OJ's son) actually did it. He also argues that OJ did go to the murder scene, that OJ knew that his son did it, and that OJ wanted to divert attention from his son. http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=7905933759946122795&hl#
  3. http://www.singulari...dry-bubble.html This is a long and interesting look at the "misandry bubble" and how and why it will eventually explode. The article makes the excellent argument that anti-male cultures do not survive and are replaced by ones that do. "Executive Summary : The Western World has quietly become a civilization that undervalues men and overvalues women, where the state forcibly transfers resources from men to women creating various perverse incentives for otherwise good women to conduct great evil against men and children, and where male nature is vilified but female nature is celebrated. This is unfair to both genders, and is a recipe for a rapid civilizational decline and displacement, the costs of which will ultimately be borne by a subsequent generation of innocent women, rather than men, as soon as 2020."
  4. There are always plenty of people who are willing to be slaves.
  5. Regulations are like a pile of trash. You don't necessarily notice the trash until it gets to be overwhelming. There has been some really odious stuff passed, and it's only going to get worse. Read about one of the worst things they've done here: http://www.handmadetoyalliance.com/AllianceInfo.aspx They basically outlawed small, private toymakers. In the House, only one Red voted against it (Guess who?). Several Blues voted against it. I don't know about you guys, but I am not holding out much hope for this country.
  6. About a minute into this video, you can hear this lying scumbag smear Ayn Rand, one of her novels specifically.
  7. You certainly could have fooled me. I have never met you and wouldn't know you from Adam. Yet, here you are making a bunch of judgments about me even though you know nothing about me. That's pretty typical behavior for anyone who calls himself an Objectivist.
  8. I did not write that. What do I care that a judge has been killed? That's just one less parasite that we all have to support. I'm sure that they will find someone else to take his place. Can you believe that the University of Arizona is postponing a scheduled basketball game because of this?
  9. It seems like Judge John Roll is better known for upholding a lawsuit filed by illegal immigrants against a rancher in Arizona. The rancher actually had the audacity to pull a gun on illegals who were trespassing on his property. This was in 2009. The judge apparently does not care that these people vandalize his property and consider it an "avenue of choice." http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2009/feb/9/16-illegals-sue-arizona-rancher/
  10. This is quite shocking. I never imagined that Jonah Goldberg could write such an intelligent article.
  11. Fair enough. I will revise my "Sad and shocking day for Americans," in light of your blasé reaction. It is a sad and shocking day for many Americans. Some Americans, typified by Chris Baker, are actually not shocked, though they may be saddened. Tell us, Chris, so that we do not misunderstand your reaction. Are you saddened by the deaths? Am I saddened by the death of a child? Yes. Am I saddened by the death of a judge? Definitely not. Am I saddened by the shooting of a politician? Definitely not.
  12. Considering the current state of the country, I really don't find this shocking at all. It just seems like "business as usual" for this country.
  13. I would like actual proof that these Youtube videos come from the alleged shooter.
  14. What makes this a "sad and shocking day" for Americans?
  15. Every person goes in and out of states all the time. Seduction and attraction are trance states. One of the most powerful things that anyone can get from the teachings is that attraction is a process, not a feeling. Every man and woman has an attraction process. There are things that can turn it on and can turn it off.
  16. They've been going off the deep end since the planes hit the towers. He might very well have attended an IOS seminar back in the 1990's if I had not told him about some of the things that had happened there. I know he went to IHS and the Mises University.
  17. Close this thread, Michael. It's an entire thread dedicated to a guy who has generally fought the good fights. I"ve known Phil since 1995. He's a good guy at heart.
  18. Thisiis also very common. It's an Objectivist making a negative comment on something that he is completely and totally uninformed about.
  19. Chris Cathcart has been active in the forums for a long time now. I first got to know him back in the days of Paul Vixie's Objectivism Mailing List. This was in early 1996. When I went out to Liberty, Chris was also in Washington at the time. I visited him one weekend in February of 1997. I was in Port Townsend (northwest), and he was at Whitman College in Walla Walla (southeast). He was a nice guy, and we just talked sports and life. I also seem to remember that we spent a lot of time making fun of the various nutcases who posted on Usenet and such. I got to hangout with Chris again in 1998. I was living in Columbus, Ohio. He was in grad school at Bowling Green, which was about two hours away. He spent a couple years there, and our talks again were mostly the same topic. I haven't seen him in person since probably 1999 or 2000. Of course, the Objectivist movement has taken a great turn for the worse since that time. People I once respected have lost that respect (including one person who posts here). It certainly can't be good if he is friendly to the likes of Perigo. I added Chris as a friend on Facebook. He accepted.
  20. I didn't know you hadn't yet read The Fountainhead. --Brant Have you read it? It's a novel. Howard Roark and Peter Keating are fictional characters, just like Harry Potter and Sherlock Holmes. And, while I am on a roll, Santa Claus, the Tooth Fairy, and the Easter Bunny are not real either.
  21. Does anyone honestly still think job and career success has anything to do with qualities like brains, hard work, determination, and passion? Success is based on one thing nowadays, and that is simply one's ability to (as I say) "play the game."
  22. I didn't really know any psychopaths until I got involved with Objectivism.
  23. Before I got involved with Objectivism, I naively believed that every person had a conscience. I definitely know that there are plenty of people who call themselves Objectivists who don't have one.
  24. The only thing he's been effective at is being the real-life version of Doctor Robert Stadler.
  25. Without a doubt, one of the biggest complaints I've always had with IOS/TOC/TAS is that they never allow enough time for questions. People always leave with a sense of dissatisfaction. I would allow two hours for each one. With less spots to fill, you can have "higher quality." And if you have more time, that means you have less spots to fill and less people attending for "free."
