Beck on Obama's State of the Union Address

Recommended Posts

I know I'm on a Glenn Beck kick, but I saw his show on President Obama's State of the Union Address and thought it was terrific. After reading and viewing some things the last couple of days, I think it is the best layman's analysis I have encountered.

I put this one here in "Stumping" because, even though fundamental principles are discussed, the focus is on President Obama's gross inconsistencies. Some of them are so blatant that you look and think, "Why didn't I see that while President Obama was talking?" This is probably a tribute to the power of the Big Lie.

Some of this might be overly-obvious to some people, but we are in a time where erring on the side of obviousness is a virtue.

Here are the videos for those interested.

I just watched this entire show again to make sure I was doing well to post it.

Yes, I did well.

I swear, I don't see how this present administration is going to survive it if Beck keeps this stuff up. He explains complex things in a manner that anyone can get it. He does this by taking the focus off the complexity and putting it on essentials. Then he names names.

In the last two videos, Beck goes on a Goldman Sachs expo that is simply stunning in its simplicity and devastating to President Obama & Co. (and that inlcudes President Bush in the mix) when anyone who holds common sense as a value sees it. There is no way to gloss over the meaning of who is in bed with who. There is no way to hide between the cracks. The only solution Obama really has left is to follow Saul Alinsky's advice, that when times get tough, step on the accelerator.

And that is exactly what Obama is trying to do. Just look at the budget.

I have been following Beck with great interest.

He made a point that is resonating strongly with me. President Obama claimed that he is going to increase exports.

Beck wants to know what the USA presently manufactures that others out in the world will buy. We are on a debt-consumer economy, no longer in a production economy. We outsource our production overseas nowadays.

And besides, what can we produce that China cannot produce much cheaper? (btw - I like Beck's term for the current Chinese model: thug-capitalism.)

Food for thought...

Michael,

I raised objections, on a thread at O.Online, to Yaron Brook appearing on Beck's show. But I am sure now that I was wrong.

What seemed like an uneasy collaboration between the two, has it appears, benefited both parties.

Beck is passionate and convincing; forget the contradictions in philosophy, the USA (and the rest of us, by extension) has bigger fish to fry right now, and he is a powerful friend of Liberty.

BTW, I was happy to receive the gift of a shirt from my cousin in Atlanta; then saw the Made in Cambodia label...

High End, High Tech weapons and scientific apparatus. That includes advanced medical scanners and measuring devices, atomic clocks and the fastest computers on the planet.

What we are not manufacturing is high speed railway equipment. We have lost the skill, because our railways have been allowed to go to rot and ruin.

Folks:

Amtrak, which I take to Philadelphia, works quite well for me. However, the 38.25 that I pay them for each one way off peak trip makes them either .25 or 6.25 because Amtrak loses either $32.00 or $38.00 per passenger nationwide.

Must be that science fiction stuff Biden was talking about.

Certainly not the John Galt Line!

So Ba'al is correct and they do not do math and business well either.

Computers?

I wonder how long that will last. Google is now going into partnership with the National Security Agency.

I don't remember the exact quote from Beck on this, but he did not think it was a good idea. That he said clearly. Then he said something like: This is like Damian the Antichrist and Freddie Krueger making a blood pact in Amityville during a full moon on Friday the 13th in a chainsaw store.

Google thinks going government is a good idea. Wait until it sees the results of civil servants and "policy" on its business.

It will take a couple of years, but I think we will see a new Internet search company coming. If cloud computing will be the new standard, which I think it will be, my bet is on Amazon, or hell, even Apple. For an easy example right now, the Twitter real-time results feature is already throwing a kink into Google's trend dominance.
