Brant Gaede
2016 Medicare premium hikesBFD.Worry about copays.Third party payers with the massive Medicare pile on starting in 1965, are responsible for the over-regulated, over-costing US medicine, plus the FDA. Then came Medicare part D (drugs) followed by Obamacare. Soon the Death Panels will kick in for the last two years of life are the biggies for Medicare expenses (apart from the stupid and unnecessary administrative costs). There are two gigantic blatant domestic fuckups: education and medicine, both courtesy of the Federal Government.I went to a debate in the late 1950s--maybe 1960--on the campus of the University of Arizona between Barry Goldwater and Stewart Udall: Federal Aid to Education would lead to Federal control of education, yes or no. It was dumb on its face, but they had to have a starting point for all the yakking to be done. Still, Barry was my hero--the only political hero of my life. I still regret skipping the reception afterwards. My family did know the Udalls somewhat and my grandfather may have had something to do with Stewart being appointed Secretary of the Interior by Kennedy. Irving Brant had been a close friend of Harold Ickes and my brother in turn of Bruce Babbitt by coincidence. Those were the days of credible disagreements between political opponents. Today it's blatant garbage time. Ayn Rand was prescient enough to throw in the towel over 40 years ago.--Brant
