Someone’s posted this on YouTube, I showed it in the early 90’s when I was running a campus club, and look back on it with fondness. I haven’t watched it again yet. It hasn’t been up very long, hopefully it doesn’t get pulled.

The old debate was pulled from YouTube, too bad since it's arguably Peikoff's best performance. Anyway, Yaron Brook does a great job here:

I feel the temperature and barometric pressure going up during this, Brook really has his talking points down. Too bad about the Elmer Fudd-like sounds he's sometimes produces.

That last part was a perfect example of inept argumentation which started with his slipping in the assumption that "some folks say that the corporations should run the government...!!!! Really, who asserts that premise?

Bwook's speech impediment is cawwed gwiding youw wiquids. It's when you pwonounce youw awes and ewws wike doubewyous. It's entirely correctible with effort, but it is so common among certain uppew cwass Bwits that some see it as pwestigious.

The 1984 debate, btw, is quite excellent. The socialists are upset when they find they don't have the support of the crowd. The question and answer period is excellent. Ridpath really outshines Peikoff, so much so I am surprised he has not been excommunicated for something or other.

Sorry was the 'wrong' video put up? As those guys are statists not socialists. I'm confused now. When do the socialists turn up to debate with the objectivists? Here in the UK socialists have tried to debate with the 'offical' objectivist organisation; the UKOA. But they backed down, saying they have nobody with any debating experience. Erm...earth to them, you ain't born with this experience you had to go out and acquire it. Man up and sink or swim.
