Incurant

Is "INCURANT"an English word or not?

I use this word a lot when I write in Italian. It means not to care about something,or someone. For example, " Michael is incurant of Kat's warnings to ware a hat" ;) Or, "INCURANT of the soffering of thousand of people the mayor keeps telling lies to his CONCITTADINI"

Here is another Italian word concittadino-i it means Italian citzen-s from the same town, which could be translated in English as "CONCITZENS"

I wish they would add words like these to the Enghish language.

hahahahaha! Michael, I haven't thought of it, I agree, indifferent is as good as incurant.

BTW in Italian "doesn't give a ......? is "Non se ne importa un cazzo!"

In Portuguese, they say "estou cagando e andando" for acute indifference, bordering on contempt. I think Italian is close enough for you to know what that means.

We also have the word "uncaring" in English, but it only works in certain contexts.

And it's a good deal less, er, colorful than the idioms that you and Michael have been discussing.
