Michael Stuart Kelly Posted January 9 Posted January 9 LA - Fire and Brimstone I can't help but see story patterns from religion in modern events right now. This doesn't mean I believe in any religion dictating modern events, but I do see what I see. Trump's entire trajectory is right out of the Old Testament when you dig up the stories and look at the patterns. Right off the top of my head, he's like a mix of Samson and King David. I was going go into several other story ideas that caught my fancy, and I will present some of this later in this thread, but one big story is just too obvious to ignore right now. Sodom and Gomorrah. In the Bible, the people in Sodom and Gomorrah wallowed in so much icky stuff, God sent angels to destroy it with fire from a volcano. Right now I'm thinking about Hollywood, all that weird and evil crap they preach and do, including Satan worship, pedophilia, assassinations, authoritarian propaganda disguised as fiction, addictions galore, moral corruption of all stripes, on and on, all in the lap of luxury, and then I see these massive LA fires right before Trump is to be sworn in. Hmmmm... Here's an article that gets updated. California wildfires: officials say significant fire growth is likely as flames spread to Hollywood Hills – live | Los Angeles | The Guardian WWW.THEGUARDIAN.COM Officials said they were dealing with five major fires, which have destroyed almost 2,000 structures and forced 130,000 people to evacuate Am I the only one seeing this in O-Land? Michael Stuart Kelly Posted January 9 Author Posted January 9 Just so we don't stay on Christianity, I'm also thinking of mythological phoenix bird that burns up, then rises from the ashes. Those who live in Phoenix, Arizona, take heed. Michael
Michael Stuart Kelly Posted January 9 Author Posted January 9 In my fiction-writing studies, Chinatown is discussed a lot (starting with classic texts like Story by Robert McKee). So the comment below seems appropriate on a personal level. It's not just religious stories, folks. It's Hollywood stories, too. Hollywood cannot escape itself as it burns... (The smiley is not for the fire, I feel bad about that. It's for the irony.) Michael
