Veritas Deep State Project

Covert videos are not a persuasion method in the sense of rhetoric. But this is still a persuasion technique. Exposure of bad guys engaged in naked wrongdoing and bragging about it is one of the all time greats. It often works when the videos are doctored, but it really works when it is the truth and the exposure gets widespread.

In the realm of show and tell, it's show and let the bad guys tell on themselves. The covert part comes in infiltrating the bad guys, not manipulating an unaware target of a persuasion message.

So far, all we have is this video. As time goes along, this thread will grow and one-by-one deep state actors will become exposed.

I'm opening the thread citing Project Veritas because exposure of the deep state can get clouded over by talking about fringe conspiracy extremists, often citing the more kooky statements as if they were representative of normal deep state criticism. Not that I disagree with the extremists (some are on to something and some are not), but this thread is devoted to persuasion of people who disagree, some who even think there is not a deep state. That will never happen by fanning the flames of those who agree.

There is nothing more persuasive to those who disagree than a video and audio recording--in context--of a person talking and doing something bad. No argument to the contrary can rebut that. The person who disagrees may still disagree, but he must either do a massive blank-out, appeal to context (which is legitimate, but can cognitively messy once the name-calling kicks in), or let a crack appear in his convictions.

And therein lies the effectiveness of the persuasion technique.

So let's see what James comes up with. I have a feeling this one is going to get nasty.

But, by exposing actual deep state personnel going about their normal lives and doing and bragging about their misbehavior, I predict this will help influence moderates in the midterms to vote for Trump-friendly candidates.

This is the first. It was released yesterday.

Department on Hidden Cam, “Resist Everything,” “I Have Nothing to Lose”

There are two updates today about legal matters resulting from this report and video, so I presume there will be updates on all episodes as time goes on and lawsuits and other legal matters ensue.

TaDaa!

The next one drops.

This guy works in the Government Accountability Office (GAO) and says openly he's a communist. He said one of his main purposes is to destroy capitalists.

He uses his government job time and resources to try to get socialist candidates elected. Taxpayers pay for his attempts to overthrow the capitalist system.

He also said he has a friend who is a major player in the Department of Justice (with top security clearance and everything) who is a member of the same movement he is. His friend works on war policy regarding Syria.

The fourth just came out.

Unmasked, IRS Officials – “You Should Give Increased Scrutiny” to Conservative Groups, “… I don’t give a s**t if that is a crime”

I haven't seen it yet (and I will comment if I have something to add after I so), but I did see something that pissed me off royally.

I saw a headline for this new episode in a news feed going to the Zero Hedge version by Tyler Durden:

"I Don't Give A Shit If It's A Crime": Fourth Veritas Video Reveals IRS Still Targeting Conservatives

I was watching the video there and after about a minute into the video, something tried to hijack and freeze my browser. (Fortunately, I know how to neutralize this, which is press "Ctrl Alt Del" at the same time, select "Task Manager," then select "Google Chrome" under "Process" and click "End Task." Reload the browser, but do not allow it to reload the previous session.) This does not happen with other articles on Zero Hedge. I went back and am pasting the article below so you can read it if you wish. The video is the same as above.

James O'Keefe just dropped the fourth installment in his series exposing the corruption and bias in the 'deep state'. This report features two Internal Revenue Service (IRS) officials who candidly discuss the IRS’s unfair treatment of conservative non-profit groups.

2018-09-25_8-28-01.jpgThe two officials in the report are Thomas Sheehy, an IRS tax examiner and member of the Austin Democratic Socialists of America in Texas, and Jerry Semasek, an IRS attorney in Washington, DC.

Flagrantly Targeting Conservative Groups

Sheehy boasts about and appears to justify former disgraced IRS Commissioner John Koskinen, who was mired in scandal for losing tens of thousands of emails regarding the Lois Lerner controversy. The Lois Lerner controversy occurred in 2013 and involved revelations showing that the IRS unfairly scrutinized conservative groups.

SHEEHY: “John Koskinen. He got a lot of flak for giving increased scrutiny to these Tea Party groups. Conservatives got really mad at him, he was so cool though because he deleted all the emails, so they could not hold any evidence against him.

Sheehy continues:

SHEEHY: “Yeah, I don’t give a s**t if that is a crime for doing that because… you should give increased scrutiny to those groups because a lot of them are just f***ing fronts for the Koch brothers or whatever.”

Mistakes Were Made

In a separate meeting, attorney Semasek discloses to Project Veritas multiple times that “mistakes were made,” during the 2013 scandal when conservative non-profits were targeted when applying for tax-exempt status.

SEMASEK: “… you know what, for what it’s worth, on the record, I know people in Tax Exempt Government Entities. All that stuff we saw in the news, yeah mistakes were made

Attorney Semasek, who worked for the IRS during the 2013 scandal, continued:

SEMASEK: “… The law requires that an organization can’t be political, it can’t be partisan to be tax exempt… Those employees in Cincinnati Ohio started to separate them and put them in a pile. And it turns out that they were like the Tea Party group of people. And I think they did, like Lois Lerner and maybe some of her employees were more liberal leaning or Democrats so I don’t know if they disallowed them, but they required them to produce more documentation to try to prove that they weren’t partisan.”

He repeated that mistakes were made:

SEMASEK: “… and that was bad. I think, from what people tell me, that really know about, there were mistakes made, but the problem with what happened… And again, there were mistakes made, and I think probably some people that were advised against conservative groups did make some mistakes.”

Socialist Abuses Work Benefits

Sheehy, like individuals featured in the previous reports in this series, is also a member of a political activist group. Sheehy implies that he abuses his work benefits, including paid time off and sick days in order to engage in socialist activism for Austin Democratic Socialists of America.

SHEEHY: “I will say, I just really like the benefits. I get a lot of paid time off and sick days. So, like, for DSA stuff, I can just honestly… I will just stay late for a period. So, I will just call in for the next day.”

SHEEHY: “I mean, as long as like the manager doesn’t find out and you don’t explicitly say “hey I’m calling in sick to do Democratic Socialist of America work” then I mean like yeah. You know, you just gotta, you just gotta like sort of manage, you know, when and where you’re like doing, like, the work you do.”

More Democratic Socialists of America at IRS

Sheehy reveals there are more socialist activists at the IRS, referring to a friend of his who works on national communications for the Democratic Socialists of America, as well as writing bylaws for the political organization.

SHEEHY: “My friend Chris, like he does a lot of like tech stuff. He even runs the f**kin’, I was looking over his shoulder once at the electoral forum and I noticed that he actually is on the national social media working group. So, he helps run the national twitter account. He also runs our local twitter account. He also is one that does all the bylaws and stuff…. he also works for the IRS.”

Sheehy remarks about his disdain for the Constitution of the United States.

SHEEHY: “Unfortunately, I am not allowed by the bylaws of my union to go against the constitution.”

JOURNALIST: “Would you?”

SHEEHY: “Yeah.”

So why the fuck aren’t they creaming their pants over George Soros’s Tides foundation.  Those fucks have been attempting political interference in Canadian politics for years.  Donations to over 100 groups in Canada stirring up the environmentalists and indigenous groups to block every pipeline they can.

Interesting how democratic socialists behave exactly like fascists.

Jon,

Heh.

The Democratic Socialists below are not acting like fascists. They are acting like idiots.

For those who don't want to watch the video, it went something like this.

A lady talked about defeating capitalism.

A guy complained about the chattering in the audience, saying he suffers from sensory overload. But he started his complaint with, "Guys... "

The lady in charge thanked him and called him comrade.

A different dude popped up, pissed, and asked if people would please stop using gendered language...

Nobody applauded at any time.

It was like a movie script for a comedy. When these comrade idiots get to this level, Veritas no longer has anything to do.

:)
