The Left's New Darling Dingbat

Why is she talking like MSK?

This is not the first thing I see that makes me wonder if maybe the good guys have pulled off a great stunt and planted her for purpose of waking up millions of zombies.

People are starting to realize our issues aren’t left and right, but top and bottom. And the just solutions will come from the bottom-up.

Jon,

It's a seductive thought, but I wouldn't go too far out on a limb on it:

Ocasio-Cortez sends Christmas greeting to 'refugee babies in mangers'

:)

She gets a few things right (I got tickled when she said lawmakers should lose their own wages when they shut down the government :) ), but she gets the vast part wrong and even goes to the goofy side at times.

I admire her spunk, though. I think she is going to become a politician of importance. You can't teach spunk, but she can learn the rest on the job.

It’s just a thought, born of expecting the Trump side - if it is a military intelligence operation - to develop people and insert them as respected leaders of the deep state loving holdouts. I’m not predicting she ever comes to the anti-deep-state side, that would end a good operation. Hints would be if she backs his major anti-establishment actions, coming soon, if she points out it is being done by the book, etc.

Above, she backs a popular uprising against globalist Macron.

Jon,

That would be a good thing if it happened. I see too many parallels between her pronouncements and her entire indoctrinated generation, though. The left infiltrated the education system and indoctrinated them. Now they have to live with the leaders who emerge. And such leaders are not cookie-cutter one-world-government types they tried to make. They are all over the friggin' place.

Too many? But that’s how they would do it, so that that generation totally, unquestioningly accepts her. That’s an alignment with my highly speculative idea, not a setback for it.

Jon,

I'll go up to here: I hope it's true that her career is a covert op. Nothing would please me more. I mean it, too.

:)

Here's an idea.

Rush Limbaugh says the media made Cortez. And pretty soon the media will take her away.

Just like they did with Avenatti.

Why? Too many Dem billionaires who got rich pilfering the public coffers. Cortez is now saying billionaires are evil and she won't stop. The folks at Davos were not amused.

So marching orders are coming soon.

What do I think?

Maybe...

I know the media is frustrated with their lack of power over President Trump. They did not make him, so they cannot break him. His bond with his followers comes from identification at a gut level, not puff pieces engineered to make him famous and acceptable.

In the case of Cortez, however, she's dumb. She's persuasion savvy enough to get tons of publicity, but otherwise she's pretty damn dumb.

And she's totally 100% media made.

That makes her eminently replaceable.

She is getting too sassy. She's going after her own. The establishment Dems are not idealistic enough for her, not far enough left. I'm looking forward to their biting back, and then to the continued infighting.

I'm looking forward to more idiocy so I hope she remains on her pedestal. The longer the better.

She is outrageous and funny too! Is she already running for Prez? At some point, even democrats who run across her, will get ruffled.

"Why should I be “spirited and warm” for this embarrassment of a #SOTU? Tonight was an unsettling night for our country. The president failed to offer any plan, any vision at all, for our future. We’re flying without a pilot. And I‘m not here to comfort anyone about that fact," she wrote.

More like he's flying in an opposite direction of where she wants to go.  But at least no one yelled out "you lie"; the worst I saw were smirks and eye rolls from Kamala Harris.

What was with all the women in white?  I kept thinking it's the Wilkie Collins brigade.  Rather anachronistic I know.

NPR loves her.  Check out the Green New Deal!

"10-year national mobilizations" sounds rather like 5 Year Plan, eh?  Ironically, the stated goals are pretty much the opposite.  The results wouldn't be.

Hey, hey, hey, hey, hello. This is Jimmy Fallen, late night host and excellent replacement for Jay and Johnny. Thanks to you, The Roots for that mash up of my opening song, “Here I Come,” and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’z favorite climate change lyrics from “The Fantasticks” and elsewhere, as sung by Baabaa Streisand. Let’s hear it again with narration from Alexandria.

Hear how the wind begins to whisper. See how the leaves go streaming by. Smell how the velvet rain is falling, Out where the fields are warm and dry. Now is the time to run inside and stay. Now is the time to find a hideaway. Where we can stay. Soon it's gonna rain. I can see it. Soon it's gonna rain. I can tell. Soon it's gonna rain. What are we gonna do? America is killing the world, even though India and China pollute a thousand times more . . .

Try to remember the kind of September, When life was slow and oh so mellow. Try to remember the kind of September, When grass was green and grain was yellow. Try to remember the kind of September, When you were a tender and callow fellow. Try to remember, and if you remember, Then follow (follow) follow (follow) follow me your wanna be fearless leader or life on this planet will cease to exist.

A way out here, they've got a name, for rain and wind and fire. The rain is Tess, the fire is Joe. And they call the wind Maria(h). Liars! It’s name is from my ancestor Alexander Cortez who got rid of those pesky Amerinds like Elizabeth Warren’s people. Don’t you just hate it when a commercial has a doorbell ring or a phone buzz and you start looking around for where that came from? That noise was ME, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. For my next trick I will lie and say I have cancer for sympathy or I will do the Munchausen by Proxy and say America has it.

Notes. Múnchausen syndrome. Munchausen syndrome is a factitious disorder, a mental disorder in which a person repeatedly and deliberately acts as if he or she has a physical or mental illness when he or she is not really sick. Munchausen syndrome is considered a mental illness because it is associated with severe emotional difficulties.

"The Green New Deal reads like word vomit from a 13-year-old child asked to scribble out their bold new thoughts for a radically different America than we have today," Blair said in a email to Reason. "This includes the phasing out of American air travel."

Funny how this matches the setup for the first of the Atlas Shrugged films.  So that trains would be important again and they could stick to Rand's plot.

Damn. That's smart Ninth Doctor. Let me carry it on for laughs.

Good evening America. It is I, your President and Fearless Leader, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. As you can see and appreciate with your eyes, my top is from the fashion house of Yves Saint Laurent and my beautiful skirt is a one of a kind Pierre Cardin. Now to business. Snap out of your dazed looks, Americanos. Tonight I am announcing that not only will we, and by that I mean my beloved Peoples’ State of America is converting to the monetary unit of Iceland, the “aurar” and we will cease to fly in planes. 100 aurar equals one krona. One ride in a ox or mules cart will cost 1 krona. Wage and price controls are now in affect.

You will turn in your dollars by midnight Friday, at your local polling station, police squad room or bank and we will kindly replace them with aurars. If you are traveling to Iceland at this time you may exchange dollars at the banks in Iceland, or at the arrival hall at the airport There will also be an option to exchange money at the Tourist information center in the Reykjavik city hall too.

Do you understand? This is an order . . . .

There is nothing radical about moral clarity - Alexandria Ocasio Cortez. She’s “AOK” to her friends, Ninth Doctor.

Do I have time for one more? Is it Dr. Seuss? Or is it a quote form AOK? You figure it out Gringo.

"Maybe Christmas, the Grinch thought, doesn't come from a store." We will do away with stores and replace them with military depots.

"Don't cry because it's over. Smile because it happened." We are now a socialist paradise as promised in the works of Marx.

"Today you are you! That is truer than true! There is no one alive who is you-er than you!" B.S. You are nothing without The State.

"Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot, nothing is going to get better. It's not." You will work your asses off for your brethren.

"You're never too old, too wacky, too wild, to pick up a book and read to a child." It’s mandatory now. Sign up at your local library. And Doctor’s and other professionals will be waiting at their designated bus stops ON TIME for their shift in the inner cities.

"Step with care and great tact, and remember that Life's a Great Balancing Act." Don’t step in it, you morons or I will send you to the Gulag!

"From there to here, and here to there, funny things are everywhere." Well, I find nothing funny. Every millionaire today stole that million from the sweat of the proletariat.

"A person's a person, no matter how small." True. I am for the little people "I like nonsense; it wakes up the brain cells." As does watching the government’s new commercials and public service announcements.

"Only you can control your future." Fascist bastard. Not if you elect me!

Well, let me see if I’m understanding. So, upstart AOC wants government to give everything to everyone for free, and to guaranty everyone a livable income, including not just those who can’t work, but those who are perfectly capable but are unwilling to work, and, meanwhile, she wants to majorly disincentivize production, if not outright punish it. Hmmm. What could possibly go wrong with this plan of encouraging demand and depleting supply while discouraging work and production?

This ain’t your grand daddy’s socialism! Old school socialism was touted as being about pride in production of the working class, not pride in getting freebies while not producing. Or at least that was the theory as stated publicly. Perhaps this new brand of socialism is just naive and brash enough to be more honest: They think that they’re charming enough to get away with telling us the truth that they want us to provide for them, and that they don’t feel that they have any obligation to contribute anything?
