This is a nifty article on how engineers  are using the old Apollo F-1 engine as a guide to building the next generation of big rocket engines that will eventually carry a crew to Mars.  The young engineers featured in this article tore down an engine that was older than they were  (designed a built back in the 60s).   The contrast between old techniques and new manufacturing methods is very interesting.  Have a look at:
